Day 2 at Leadership Academy: Collaboration & a Little Competition! ⛳

Today was all about teamwork in action—and a little bit of friendly rivalry!

Our leaders kicked things off with a powerful group session, diving deep into discovering how our unique talents amplify one another when we come together. Through thoughtful brainstorming and energizing discussions, it was clear: when leaders collaborate, great ideas follow.

Then they swapped flipcharts for putters and headed to mini golf! It was the perfect mix of fun and strategy—just like leadership itself. From the brainstorming board to the putting green, Day 2 was a reminder that strong leadership is built on shared strengths, creative thinking, collaboration, and team-building.

🚨Federal Judge Rules Against CMS Minimum Staffing Standards🚨

On April 7, federal judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk ruled in favor of plaintiffs, including LeadingAge and the American Health Care Association, to vacate the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) minimum staffing standards outlined in the final rule. This decision follows the plaintiffs' case filed in May 2024, arguing that CMS exceeded its authority in enforcing such staffing requirements.

LeadingAge president and CEO Katie Smith Sloan offered this quote, saying, "Today’s ruling is a victory that strengthens our resolve and propels our ongoing advocacy on behalf of our 5,500 members across the country.”
