Association of the US Army supports veterans, active & reserve duty service members.

We serve as the Voice for the US Army (Active, Reserve, and National Guard) in Coastal South Carolina by providing: relevant programs to inform, educate and connect; and support for soldiers, DA civilians, retirees, veterans, and army family members.

This is graduation weekend for many in the low country! Congratulations to the many 2026 graduates and their families. Special shout out to the men and women taking commissions and oath to serve in our Armed Forces. Thanks for taking the road less traveled. Best wishes to all our graduates! The Coastal SC AUSA Chapter had a great visit with Gen Bob
Brown, President of the AUSA. Gen Brown sat down with our leadership and provided an update on what the AUSA is doing on the behalf of Active Duty, Veterans, and families. Thanks to our community partner, Elbit Systems of America for showing our leadership team the North Charleston operations during this visit.

Two more days! Please stop by Big Bad Breakfast in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday, March 25 to celebrate Medal of Honor Day! Proceeds from @ our Spirit Day will support Lowcountry soldiers and their families. Several AUSA chapter leaders will be there between 8:30 and 10:00 am and would love to meet you!

SC Coastal Chapter of the AUSA participated in the RHJVAMC Veterans Stakeholders Breakfast this morning. Representatives from the community received formal updates from the VA Hospital and Charleston Fisher House. We also received updates from the community members. Key points:

Mt Pleasant VA Clinic is fully operational and is 80% filled since opening six months ago. They have about room for 800 more veterans in their two primary care clinics.

Beaufort SC VA Clinic will be getting their new facility soon.

Charleston Fisher House continues to be the #1 facility in the VA system based on occupancy and dollars saved. Request for an additional Fisher House is being submitted. More information to be provided at a later date, if approved.

49th Cooper River Bridge Run will be having a military challenge for all Active or Veteran members.

Charleston Veteran’s Treatment Court graduation is scheduled for 4 Feb at 1400hrs. Location is Charleston Courthouse, Probate courtroom.

The 1st QTR AUSA local VA Team recognition award will be presented in April.
