⛳ Exploring Careers—One Experience at a Time! 💼

Our ArcMorris Nexus Prevocational group recently had an incredible behind-the-scenes job tour at PGA TOUR Superstore—and this was so much more than just a tour!

The group, along with Jordyn Iantosca, spent 90 minutes exploring different departments, meeting employees, learning about available jobs and workplace expectations, touring the warehouse, and even getting some hands-on experience stocking merchandise on the sales floor. 🙌

They wrapped up the visit with a conversation about different positions, responsibilities and pay—and even left with some golf balls as a special gift! One participant, Jason, called it “one of his favorite days.” 💚

And the experience didn’t end there—the group handwrote thank-you cards to Chris Roguso and Angela Boddy for taking the time to make the visit so meaningful.

This is what career exploration looks like: seeing workplaces firsthand, asking questions, trying new tasks and discovering what opportunities are out there.

A HUGE thank you to the team at PGA TOUR Superstore, especially Chris and Angela, for welcoming ArcMorris and creating such an engaging experience. We can’t wait to visit again!

And, a special shout out to the Morris County Chamber of Commerce for helping us bridge this connection through one of their amazing networking events!⛳

📣 ACTION ALERT: Tell Congress to Support Direct Support Professionals!

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are essential. Every day, they support people with disabilities with daily needs—from preparing meals and taking medication to getting ready for the day and staying connected to their communities.

But with approximately 41% of DSPs leaving their jobs each year, the workforce crisis continues to threaten the consistency and quality of supports people with disabilities rely on.

Congress has an opportunity to take an important step forward by passing the bipartisan Recognizing the Role of Direct Support Professionals Act, which would create a federal Standard Occupational Classification specifically for DSPs. Better workforce data means policymakers can better understand wages, turnover and vacancies—and develop solutions that strengthen this critical workforce.

💚 Your voice matters. Take action today and tell Congress to support DSPs and the people who rely on them.

👉 Take Action Now: https://act.thearc.org/campaign/168248/

Take a minute. Send a message. Make your voice heard. And when you do, share what DSPs mean to you, your family, or someone you care about.
