🚓🔥 Reminder: Morris Plains PBA Local 254 will be participating in the New Jersey Special Olympics Torch Run today!

Our runners are expected to begin their portion of the run at approximately 1:00 PM, starting near 1711 Route 10 East and continuing along Route 202 toward the Speedwell Avenue and Hanover Avenue area. Please note this time is an estimate and may be slightly earlier or later.

If you’re in the area, come out and cheer on the runners as they carry the “Flame of Hope” in support of Special Olympics New Jersey and its amazing athletes.

Motorists should expect minor traffic delays along the route.

Members of Morris Plains PBA Local 254 will once again be participating in the New Jersey Special Olympics Torch Run on Friday, June 5.

Each year, law enforcement officers from across the state proudly carry the “Flame of Hope” to raise awareness and support for Special Olympics New Jersey and its incredible athletes. We are honored to be part of this tradition and invite our community to come out and cheer us on along the route.

Our runners are expected to begin between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM, starting near 1711 Route 10 East and continuing along Route 202 toward the Speedwell Avenue and Hanover Avenue area.

Motorists should expect minor traffic delays in the area during this time. We appreciate your patience and support as we take part in this meaningful event.

The Morris Plains PBA would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who stopped by and donated an unwrapped toy. Your generosity helped make this year’s Toys for Tots collection a great success.

If you weren’t able to make it, there’s still time to contribute. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off in the lobby of the Morris Plains Police Department or at our friends’ location at Harley-Davidson.

Today members of our PBA will be participating in The Special Olympics Torch Run. Every year, members run to raise money and awareness for The Special Olympics by running on Route 202 with the “Flame of Hope.” This year we hope you join us by cheering us on anywhere on Route 202. We will send an update out on a time frame, but anticipate us running sometime in the afternoon. Usually our members begin around 12:30/1pm from 1711 Route 10 East and run through Route 202 to Speedwell Ave / Hanover Ave. Expect some minor delays in the area during that time.

Morris Plains PBA Local 254 is proud to announce that our Autism Awareness patches are now available for purchase!

Cost: $10 per patch
Pickup Location: Morris Plains Police Headquarters
Available through the Chief’s Secretary or the Records Clerk

We know we’re a little late—Autism Awareness Month is in April—but supporting the autism community is important to us all year round.

100% of the proceeds will be donated to various autism-related organizations doing incredible work to support individuals and families.
