Note from President John, WA2C regarding the meeting schedule:

Due to the upcoming storm forecast we are cancelling the Friday night meeting!

Please be advised that the annual business meeting is rescheduled for February 22, 2013.

At this meeting we will be discussing our internal business affairs and the meeting will be closed to all guests. (Members Only)

The rescheduled meeting will be held at the Morris County Training Center (our normal place)

If you can not make this newly rescheduled date and have any important items that should be discussed please forward an e-mail to John, WA2C and he will handle it accordingly.

Steve Mendelsohn, W2ML passed away this morning from complications due to pancreatic cancer. A huge loss for the NJDXA and for amateur radio in general. Steve was just an all around good guy.

Here's something both the veteran and newbie DXer can sink their teeth into. Work at least 100 entities from the original DXCC list (1937) to be eligible for the diamond DXCC award. Only contacts from 01/01/2012 to 12/31/12 count.

Acting on a recommendation by ARRL Membership and Volunteer Programs Manager Dave Patton, NN1N, the ARRL’s Programs and Services Committee adopted new rules for ARRL field card checkers.

After a long battle with cancer, Fred O'Maia W5YI has now become a silent key. In addition to his work on the ham education, regulatory and licensing front, Fred was the author of the "Washington Readout" column of CQ magazine.
