🚨 BREAKING: Federal judge certifies class action lawsuit against Hubble Contacts over alleged prescription substitutions, according to Michael Sullivan & Associates, LLP.
The lawsuit alleges Hubble deceived consumers into purchasing contact lenses their eye doctors never prescribed, raising serious patient safety concerns.
The AOA has been sounding the alarm for years. Our advocacy helped bring scrutiny to Hubble's practices, including a 2022 federal enforcement action resulting in $3.5 million in penalties and consumer redress. The AOA also has submitted more than 80 documented cases of suspected patient harm to the FTC.

Contact lenses are FDA-regulated medical devices, not interchangeable consumer products. Patients deserve the lenses prescribed for their eyes, and the AOA will continue fighting to hold sellers accountable and protect patients from unsafe practices.
The ruling allows the lawsuit to proceed as a class action but does not determine liability.
