Today our Prayer & Share request is simple as we head into Labor Day. Take a moment to lift up each house parent, director, social worker and staff member who are called to serve the young people at our Ranches. As always, lift up our Ranchers as they forge relationships and build upon the path God has set before them. Long weekends look a little different around our Ranches. There are still meals to cook, animals to feed, chores to finish, laughs to share and memories to make. Behind every picture are houseparents and staff who continue showing up for our Ranchers day after day. This Labor Day weekend, we’re especially thankful for the people whose work makes our Ranches feel like home.

Montgomery Businesses Join Sheriff Cunningham and other community leaders on the course!

The Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches is looking for a few On-Course Community Partners to join us at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Children’s Charity Golf Classic on September 17 at Arrowhead Country Club!

We’re inviting local restaurants, caterers and food businesses to set up along the course and donate samples, snacks or other refreshments for our golfers, law enforcement officers and community leaders.

There is no vendor fee and nothing to sell. Just bring your setup, share what you do best, meet folks from across the Montgomery community and help us create a great day benefiting the children of the Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches.

Our boys and girls across all four Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches have officially wrapped up their first week of school and are now heading through Week Two! We’re excited to share a few photos from their first days back in the classroom.

As you look through these pictures, we have one simple request:

Stop and pray for them.

Pray for our children as they learn, grow, make new friends, face challenges, and discover what they’re capable of. Pray for their houseparents, teachers, counselors, and everyone helping guide them along the way.

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up feeling safe, loved, supported, and hopeful about their future. Your prayers are one of the greatest ways you can support the children who call the Ranches home.

Please continue to lift our boys and girls up in prayer throughout this school year.

Because as we always say:

“It’s easier to build boys and girls than to repair men and women.”

Today was a special day as we celebrated the groundbreaking of South Haven Surgical Plaza in Hoover, a new outpatient healthcare destination serving Hoover and surrounding communities. We are especially grateful to Loree Skelton, who presented the Ranches with a $5,000 donation in loving memory of Fred & Rheta Skelton during today’s celebration.

Loree is not only an incredible supporter of our mission she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ranches, helping us build brighter futures for Alabama’s children. Her generosity, leadership, and continued belief in the work of the Ranches alongside our community of supporters is what propels us forward.
