First Teacher Home Visiting Program is a free home visitation program that provides support to pregnant women, mothers, fathers, and other caregivers of young children in their own home. Participants are provided with prenatal support, activities, books, and learning materials for children who are 5 years old and younger. Monthly visits include vision, hearing, and developmental screenings by a Parent Educator. This fun program also provides links to community resources, support through connections with other families, and guidance in setting and achieving personal and family goals. First Teacher is available in the following eight counties: Bullock, Butler, Conecuh, Dallas, Marengo, Monroe, Montgomery, and Wilcox.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, FGC’s Dothan staff delivered baskets of goodies to Southeast Health Cancer Center and Mission Oncology Partners at Flowers Hospital to brighten the day for patients and their families. Each treat included an encouraging message to offer hope and support. 💗

🎉 On October 1, FGC staff kicked off the new grant year with a fun game of Candy Pong! 🍬🏓 After celebrating, some of our team visited Logo Branders to check out new products.

🎉 It’s been a busy week at Family Guidance Center of Alabama!

Our FGC SOS Job Readiness Class completed their final day of classroom training and is now preparing for four weeks at a work site! This next step will give participants the opportunity to put their skills into practice and gain valuable work experience.

Congratulations to each participant on reaching this milestone! We are proud of your hard work and commitment to building a brighter future. Keep moving forward—your next chapter is just beginning! 👏💼
