AKA-BNO June Sorority Meeting 2026 Recap: Here's a look back at our June Sorority meeting with a All White Business Casual Theme.

Overview:

💚Before handling the business of AKA, members listened to the BNO Pearls who got the meeting started with a spirit filled song selection. Afterwards, a member of our Spiritual Oversight Committee gave mediation and led us in prayer.

🩷Handled the business of AKA as we closed out with our last Sorority Meeting before Summer Break. Highlighted service projects that we participated in over the past month

💚Celebrated and Recognized special Birthdays of two of our members who reached milestone Birthdays. Happy birthday to Mrs. Katie Bell who will celebrate her 90th Birthday on June 14th. Also, we want to wish a Happy 99th Birthday to our member Lillian Blakey who will celebrate her 99th Birthday on June 27th.

, Newly transferred/reactivated member winner and our Random Act of Sisterliness winner.

💚Special thanks to our Hospitality and Social Committees for checking in members during registration and welcoming all members with a beautiful smile. What a great Sisterhood.....because we are definitely Better Together!

On June 5, 2026, a few members of Beta Nu Omega Chapter had the honor to attend the Change of Command ceremony as Colonel Shamekia 'Meka' Toliver bids farewell to a great command.

We had the pleasure to get to know Colonel Toliver during her assignment as the 42nd Air Base Wing Commander. She was one of our visiting Sorority Sisters during her stay in Montgomery.

Now we welcome Colonel Mike Gallucci as the new base commander. Congratulations and thank you for your service to the community Colonel Toliver.

This summer, we want you to get to know some of the names and faces of the members of the Huntingdon College Alumni Board.

First is the current Alumni Board President, Dr. Diana Gray '04.

Diana, from Montgomery, AL is the Founder and Executive Director of Montgomery Arts Academy. When asked why Huntingdon matters to her, Diana replied, "Huntingdon College matters to me because it is the place where I discovered not only my academic and musical foundation, but also my leadership voice and sense of purpose. As an alumna, the first African American President of the Alumni Association, and now a Trustee, Huntingdon represents the power of growth, legacy, and the transformative impact of education and opportunity."

The Marvelous May Flowers (our Birthday Sister Squad) celebrated their birthday month by having dinner at KinSmith in beautiful downtown Montgomery,AL. Each member in attendance participated in a gift exchange and enjoyed a wonderful Sisterly Fellowship.
