The Lift Garage

The Lift Garage A nonprofit auto shop aimed to move people out of poverty by providing low-cost car repair in the Twin Cities area. We are grateful for all of your support!

With the support of our incredible community of donors and volunteers, The Lift Garage has grown to complete over 1,250 repairs! We have added 3 full time employed mechanics, a full time Executive and Operations Director, are open Tues-Saturday every week. Since opening in April of 2013, we have saved low income Minnesotans over $465,000 in car repair costs! We continue to seek grants and additional funding so that we may continue to meet the high demand of car repair and reduce our waiting list. If you would like to make a donation, head over to the donation page on our website: www.theliftgarage.org/donate.

The fourth annual Community Car Show benefiting The Lift Garage was a blast!

Organized by our friends at InterMarque, the Minnesota Triumphs Sports Car
Club, and the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Minnesota, this free show brought together dozens of vintage, collector, and eclectic cars and enthusiasts from across the state for a morning of fun and friendly fundraising competition. In addition to car club members showing off their rides, they also compete to raise funds from their clubs to benefit The Lift!

“Car club members love cars, but above all, we understand the true value of having reliable transportation,” said Brandon Baker of the Minnesota Triumphs Sports Car Club. “When local car clubs and The Lift Garage join forces to support our community, it’s pure magic.”

Thanks to all who brought cars, came to admire them, and joined us for tours of the garage. We're so grateful for the support and hope to see everyone again in 2027 on the final Saturday morning in September!

There were smiles for miles at Gear Up for Good last Monday night! Thanks to all who showed up to support The Lift Garage for a spectacular night of tacos, b**rs, (friendly) bidding wars, and incredible generosity. Thanks to the enthusiastic support of this community, we raised over $66,000 in support of affordable car repair and honest advice and unlocked an ADDITIONAL $25,000 challenge match from the Alice M. O'Brien Foundation!

We are absolutely blown away by your belief and support for our mission to keep our neighbors safer on the roads. Whether you joined us in person, joined the bidding online, or made a gift to help us cross the finish line, you're helping fuel our work to help customers feel safe, connected, and confident on the roads to more secure lives. Thank you!

The Lift Garage at the State Fair! Longtime friend of The Lift, Julie Blaha, used her crop art talents to create an incredible Lift Garage-inspired piece for the fair this year! Stop by the crop art exhibit in the Agricultural Building to see it on display before the fair ends Monday! Pro-tip from our resident State Fair enthusiast, Cathy: wait until the evening for the crop art line to get a little shorter!
