Part-time Job Opportunity! COMMUNITY OUTREACH CONTRACTORS – POLLINATOR EDUCATION INITIATIVE
The Midtown Greenway Coalition is seeking three temporary Community Outreach Contractors to support a multilingual pollinator education initiative and major community Pollinator Party event taking place on August 1, 2026, as well as workshops in the months following.
These are temporary independent contractor positions focused on community outreach, event promotion, workshop recruitment, and educational engagement related to pollinator habitat and environmental education along the Midtown Greenway corridor.
AVAILABLE CONTRACT POSITIONS

- Spanish-Language Outreach Contractor
- Somali-Language Outreach Contractor
- General Community Outreach Contractor (multilingual applicants encouraged)
COMPENSATION
• $30/hour
• Approximately 60–80 hours total, from July 1 through November 2026
• Flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
• Independent contractor position (not an employee position)
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Contractors will support outreach and engagement efforts connected to the Midtown Greenway Coalition’s pollinator education programming, including:
• Promoting the August 1 Pollinator Party and workshops in the late summer and fall
• Recruiting community members to attend events and educational activities
• Conducting neighborhood outreach along the Greenway corridor
• Distributing flyers and multilingual educational materials
• Tabling at community events and public spaces
• Supporting participant sign-in and engagement activities
• Assisting with workshop logistics and setup
• Helping build awareness of pollinator gardens and habitat initiatives
• Conducting outreach through social media, community networks, and partner organizations
• Maintaining simple outreach activity logs
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong communication and community engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and interact positively with the public
• Familiarity with Minneapolis neighborhoods and community networks
• Experience with outreach, organizing, tabling, education, or community events preferred
• Spanish or Somali fluency required for language-specific positions
• Multilingual applicants strongly encouraged

• Increase attendance at pollinator education events and workshops
• Expand awareness of pollinator habitat initiatives
• Build relationships with diverse community members and organizations
• Support welcoming and inclusive community engagement
