Banyan Community

Banyan Community Banyan is rooted in the Phillips Neighborhood to transform lives by developing youth, strengthening families, and creating community.

A mid-sized non profit that was founded in 1998 as the Banyan Foundation. Later changed the name to the Banyan Community. Currently serves 120 youth and 75 families and has a reach to over 500 commmunity members through the LightHouse Network. Funding comes from Foundations and Corporations, Individuals and Churches.

Meet Adali, Community Engagement Coordinator at Banyan and leader of Community Connectors, an initiative that helps us build relationships across the Lighthouse Network in Phillips.

A HUGE thank you to the amazing volunteers from St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and School who helped us pack more than 100 backpacks for Banyan youth!

Drum day was a hit! 🪘 Our middle schoolers had a blast learning how to hold and play these African drums (it's harder than you think!) while practicing rhythm together as a group.

It may not have been the quietest day at Banyan, but we love bringing music into our programs. It's a great opportunity for students to express themselves, try something new, and connect with their pals in a new way.

A huge thank you to Carlson's Llovable Llamas for bringing these furry, fun, and slightly stubborn friends to Banyan! Just when you think you know what a summer day at Banyan will bring, you look outside, and there are llamas on the front lawn.
