Tamales y Bicicletas se complace en anunciar que somos los beneficiarios de SEED 2023 de Seward Community Co-Op para el mes de febrero. El programa SEED Round-Up es una forma en que los clientes pueden "redondear" su factura de comestibles para ayudar a apoyar a las organizaciones comunitarias locales. Tamales y Bicicletas trabaja para centrar a los pueblos indígenas, black, latine y de color a través de la descolonización y localización de nuestro sistema alimentario, el empoderamiento/resistencia de la comunidad, el transporte sostenible y las habilidades agrícolas urbanas. Considere apoyar Tamales y Bicicletas y Seward Community Co-Op redondeando su compra de comestibles en el mes de febrero.

Also, we will have more volunteer days this fall as we look to give some of our outdoor beds a rest for next season, set up our compost system, and think about the next steps of the greenhouse...
( sheath the greenhouse in its metal siding, get the inside of the greenhouse set up for cool weather growing, and figure out how gardeners can collectively try out this building for cool season use!)

Check out our craft hangout event — this Wednesday 8/31 5-7:30! (See events)
We’ve been weaving and printmaking in the garden with our teen program and for Wednesday night we will host adults for bring your own project night (supervised kids welcome!). No instruction provided but there will be printing supplies for those with blocks to carve and/or print. Spoon carvers, weavers, doodlers, etc welcome!

(We also have some mural brainstorming materials we’d love to get more additions on!)

Thanks to Jacqueline for hosting this beautiful Land Back celebration at the garden! Great food, big bouncy house, and some mural painting too! (we will be adding to this portable mural Wednesday night 5-7:30 during our bring your own craft hangout! Join us!)

Thanks to everyone who came out to Open Streets Franklin Ave! Thanks to Our Streets Minneapolis for supporting green transportation, narrower highways and a safer and healthier city.
