Animal fact of the week! 🐓🐖🐄🐑🐟🐐🐇🐝

Every week, we bring you a fun new fact about farmed animals, to show their diverse intelligence, emotional capacity, and sentience. Did you know?

Chickens are quick learners, easily picking up spacial tasks with a little bit of coaching. They can also learn basic arithmetic, being able to count objects left to right, use a number line, and more! Time to put that term "bird brained" to rest!

One of the first animal rights murals in Minnesota history is being installed right now, and we want to celebrate with you! 🐾🎨

Join us for the mural reveal party:

📍 Vegan East (5501 S 34th Ave, Minneapolis)

Get the inside scoop on the mural from artist Xena Goldman, watch the ceremonial ribbon cutting, and enjoy live music from award-winning musician Mary Bue. Vegan East will have a limited-time offering of caramel rolls and other fall treats available!

Admission is free, and street parking is available nearby.

We can’t wait to celebrate art, compassion, and community with you! 💖

Every week, we bring you a fun new fact about farmed animals, to show their diverse intelligence, emotional capacity, and sentience. Did you know?

Goats can recognize subtle shifts in tone and voice — in both goat companions and humans. They can decipher if a voice is calm or angry, and will show preference to the calm, happy tones of voice. They can also remember these voices and respond accordingly.

Not only are sheep intelligent, but they also have excellent memories! A sheep can remember around 50 individuals — including animal and human companions, even recalling them years later!

Every week, we bring you a fun new fact about farmed animals, to show their diverse intelligence, emotional capacity, and sentience. Did you know?

While pigs are often portrayed as "dirty" nothing could be further from the truth. Pigs are highly intelligent and know how to keep their spaces clean. When they are given enough space, pigs will naturally make separate toilet areas, away from their bedding and play spaces, even as young as 5 days old! And the mud they roll in? It's not because they like being dirty — it's how they cool off and protect themselves from the hot sun.
