Meet Katrina, who just finished up her first year as a Reading Tutor in Minnesota! Before joining Reading Corps, Katrina was a stay-at-home mom looking for a new opportunity that would fit her family's schedule.

"I am really looking forward to seeing improvements in the students I am working with," Katrina shares. In addition to spending time with her students, she enjoys developing her professional skills through Reading Corps and plans to return for a second year of tutoring in the fall!

We’re proud to announce that Lindsay Dolce has been named Chief Executive Officer of Ampact! Over the past 10 years as Ampact’s Chief Policy and Growth Officer, she has played a pivotal role in growing our impact, doubling investments, and expanding evidence-based programs to 12 states!

A Reading Corps partner for more than a decade, Mora Elementary- Mora, MN has continuously been committed to boosting students' literacy skills! Tutors have helped 390 K-3 students make strides in reading, progress that's backed by our wide network of school support.

"Mora Elementary consistently meets or exceeds Reading Corps key metrics," says Coaching Specialist Ellie Swanson, noting key outcomes like students exceeding target weekly growth. We could not be more appreciative of tutors Jessica, Dana, and Debra for all they do to help students boost their skills!

Years ago, Joshua was the one receiving Reading Corps tutoring support as a student in South St. Paul — making him keenly aware of what it is like to need an extra boost to succeed. Now, as a Math Corps tutor, he feels like his story has come full circle.

As Joshua puts it, “I thought I would give back what was given to me."

Help us celebrate Reba, a Reading Tutor supporting students in Racine, Wisconsin. Before serving with Reading Corps, she tutored students just across the border in Illinois with the same mission to help them to become stronger readers.

"I love what we do" Reba says. Now finishing up her second year at her school, she continues to support students as they develop their literacy skills and confidence. Returning for a second year at the same site has also meant deeper, more meaningful connections with students, teachers and staff.

ROCORI School District is home to three elementary schools that have adopted our high-impact tutoring model to help more students succeed! Across Cold Spring, John Clark, and Richmond Elementary Schools, tutors helped more than 175 students build their proficiency in reading and math this school year.

Among the leaders responsible for such great success is Mary Holmberg, principal of John Clark and Richmond Elementary Schools. Principal Holmberg was recently awarded Minnesota’s 2026 National Distinguished Principal, a testament to her strength as a leader and educator. We're proud to partner with her in ensuring local students have the skills needed to succeed.

Last month, we had the incredible opportunity to showcase our partnership and the Reading Corps program model at a site visit with Wisconsin State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly and staff from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
