Update from Pe’ Sla Protectors Camp: It’s another beautiful morning at the Pe ‘Sla Protectors Camp. We got some tipis set up and good food in our bellies. Our spirits are high from being on our land, all the support we are receiving, and this opportunity to protect Unci Maka and Pe’Sla for future generations.

Yesterday three law enforcement officers approached the camp and issued a warning for trespassing on our own land. We know these laws the are trying to enforce are not applied equally as the USFS violates their own memorandum by permitting this drilling project to Pete Lien & Sons in the first place.

Two drills and drill pads remain shut down by our collective ceremony. Yet still we know Pete Lien & Sons continue to prepare to drill on at least one of the other 16 sites in the area.

We continue to hold ceremony and pray for Pe’ Sla and that the courts uphold our treaty rights and halt this drilling project immediately.

Ways you can help protect Pe’ Sla:

➡️ Connect with groups in Rapid City who are organizing protests against this project: Black Hills Clean Water Alliance International Indigenous Youth Council International Indigenous Youth Council-Oglala Lakota Chapter

✍🏾 Sign our petition: https://ndnco.cc/protectpesla.

➡️ Add your organization, coalition, or Tribe name (no individuals) to this sign on letter: https://ndnco.cc/signtosavepesla

🪶 Donate: https://donate.ndncollective.org/campaign/795725/donate

🎥 Stay tuned, we will be going LIVE and provide updates in the coming days.

👩🏽‍⚖️ The hearing will be held on Monday *May 4th at 3 pm MT at the *Federal Courthouse in Rapid City. Show your support and attend the courthouse.
