The Southside Red Bears are getting ready for another season of representing our community on and off the court—and we’re asking our relatives, supporters, and community to help us get our young people there.

This program creates a space where Native youth can build confidence, discipline, leadership, relationships, and pride in who they are while traveling, competing, and representing their community.

For many of our families, the cost of competitive and travel basketball can be a major barrier. We believe our young people deserve these opportunities regardless of what their families can afford.

Relatives, in July a small group of people from Indigenous Protector Movement, The Red Nation, and the Indigenous Peoples Task force toured the site of 3 proposed AI Data centers in Minnesota.

🪶 The goal was simple to visit and pray for the land and water.

The sites we visited were a proposed Cloud HQ AI Data Center site in Chaska, MN. The site of the proposed Farmington MN, AI Data center where a slated swatch of land poised to be turned into an AI Data center butted against the Vermilion river. Our tour ended in Rosemount, MN where a Meta AI data center in partnership with the UMN is being built. At each stop we prayed for the land and water, as this new era of colonial land-grabs and extraction spreads across Minnesota and the world.

🐎 This is the first of our spirit rides, where we go to points of extraction and destruction to pray for the land and the water.

We are LIVE at Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the National Day of Remembrance for Indian Boarding School Survivors. ��This year’s theme, “Honoring Truth, Embracing Healing, Building our Future,” invites us to honor survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and stand with families and communities impacted by the federal Indian boarding school system.

All are welcome to join us for a candlelight vigil, remembrance walk, and special guest speakers.��

Together, we can honor the past, support survivors, and build a future rooted in truth, justice, and healing.

⚡️SAVE THE DATE — NOVEMBER 5 | PROTECT PIPESTONE⚡️

On November 5, Indigenous Protector Movement will be circling up outside the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission in St. Paul as the Magellan Pipeline Pipestone Reroute Project continues through the state regulatory process.

The proposal concerns the relocation of approximately 0.74 miles of an existing petroleum pipeline in Pipestone County, near the Pipestone National Monument and culturally significant lands. The project remains listed as active under MN PUC Docket 23-109.

For IPM, our involvement in Pipestone has always been about more than a single stretch of pipeline. We are standing with the people who have carried responsibility to this place for generations and continuing to center the cultural, ceremonial, environmental, and spiritual significance of Pipestone.

Season 2 of Sage in the City is officially underway! 🎙️

Our Keep the Fire Alive interns, Asher Birdhorse Jr. and Shaylin Hanks, just wrapped filming their first episode of the new season, sitting down with Isavela Lopez, IPM’s Director of Arts and Movement Building, for a conversation we’re excited to share.
Sage in the City is about more than producing a podcast. It’s about creating space for Indigenous youth to develop their voices, ask meaningful questions, tell our community’s stories, and gain hands-on experience in media production.

Behind the camera, Lorenzo Serna, IPM’s Director of Communications and Storytelling, has been guiding Asher and Shaylin through the process, teaching them how to work with cameras, audio and other media equipment while helping them build the skills and confidence to produce their own stories.

We’re grateful for our continued partnership with the Indigenous Peoples Task Force and the Keep the Fire Alive Internship Program, which connects young people with opportunities to learn, create, and grow alongside community organizations.
We can’t wait for everyone to hear what Asher and Shaylin have been working on.

Pipestone is not simply a place on a map or a route for industry. It is a sacred place with deep cultural, spiritual, and ceremonial significance to Dakota people and Indigenous Nations across Turtle Island.
We are asking our relatives, allies, and community members to submit a public comment today and demand NO PIPELINE.
