✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Gene ✨
For 14 years, Gene has been a steady, caring presence at CES. At 90 years young (yes, 90 years!) he continues to show up with the same simple motivation: helping people in need.
Gene first came to CES in 2012 through a friend, and what keeps him coming back is just as meaningful as the work itself. “The relationships I’ve formed here matter,” he shares. “I’ve lived a life full of blessings, and it’s important to share those blessings with others.”
Gene is also one of our dedicated volunteers from Mount Olivet, a valued community partner of CES whose support helps make this work possible. He is one of those volunteers who continues to wow us with his consistency, heart, and dedication.
Some of the moments that have stayed with him most are connections with individuals coming from a nearby addiction treatment center and with fellow veterans. “Those experiences were very special,” he says.
Gene hopes younger generations understand just how fortunate we are and encourages everyone to give back in whatever way they can. “Helping others is the most important thing we can do.”
We are deeply grateful for Gene and the kindness and heart he brings to CES. 💙
