We are a national education center that serves the greater community of Nordic Americans and all those who value a relationship with Norway. We work with partners, to provide events, programming, and communication efforts that focus on the business and cultural issues of today and the future.

With heavy hearts, Norway House remembers Lee Sundet, who passed away on July 16 at the age of 98.

Lee grew up on a farm near Spring Grove, Minnesota, speaking Norwegian before he attended school and learned English. A graduate of the University of Minnesota’s School of Agriculture and a United States Marine, Lee was a lifelong philanthropist, active in numerous organizations and ministries that touched countless lives and communities.

Norway House has been fortunate to count Lee and his family among our earliest and most steadfast supporters. Our event center hall bears the Sundet name in honor of that generosity—a space where countless gatherings, celebrations, and cultural events have taken place because of Lee and the Sundet family’s commitment to keeping Norwegian culture alive in our community.

We extend our deepest condolences to Lee’s wife of 74 years, Louise, and their entire family. Lee’s legacy will live on in this building and in the community he helped build.
