Saying goodbye to an amazing care team in Indianapolis and trusting a new one as Mikayla starts college in the fall at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. Growth takes courage.

The Mikayla Sarai Foundation proudly congratulates Mikayla Sarai on completing the Rawls Medical Initiative Program at the Center for Leadership Development.

She was also selected as a student speaker, recognizing her leadership and commitment throughout the program.

Mikayla plans to pursue a career as an OB-GYN and will begin her Pre-Med and Health Sciences journey in college next year.

This moment is powerful. Black physicians make up only about 5% of doctors in the U.S., and Black women represent just 2–3%. Representation in medicine matters and Mikayla is part of that future.

We are proud of you.

She was one of the only students invited to speak in person, sharing her perspective and inspiring others who are interested in the healthcare field.
