The story of Voyageurs began long before it became a park.
On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we express our deep gratitude for the people who have cared for and shaped these lands and waters since time immemorial.
These enduring connections are at the heart of the Tribal Co-Stewardship Program, a partnership between Voyageurs Conservancy, Voyageurs National Park, and the Tribal Nations and Métis communities with deep ties to the region.
By bringing traditional ecological knowledge together with modern conservation approaches, the program supports Indigenous perspectives in cultural interpretation, youth education, and land and water stewardship. 🌲
We’re grateful for the generations of care that have shaped this region and for the partnerships helping carry this knowledge forward.
