🌀 Bunkhuon Chhun (he/him) is a Consumer Affairs Examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Since joining in 2015, Bunkhuon has reviewed banks for adherence to consumer protection regulations, and performance under the Community Reinvestment Act. He received his law degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College. A keen fly fisher, adequate runner, and above average husband/father, you can find Bunkhuon trying to keep himself busy.
🌀 Mónica María Hurtado (she/her/ella) was born and raised in Colombia, where she trained as a doctor in family medicine. She has been living in the US (MN) since 2001, and has worked for a Latine program funded by the Eliminating Health Disparities Initiative, and as a community organizer for Voices for Racial Justice. Mónica is a 2024-2026 Bush Fellow, invested in exploring historical practices of black and brown peoples in community organizing.
🌀 Mariah Norwood (they/them) is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. They bring extensive experience in public health, tribal relations, and government collaboration to the work that they do. Throughout their career, Mariah has been recognized for their commitment to health equity, advocacy for Native American communities, and community-centered public service. Mariah holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Health and Human Services Administration from the University of Oklahoma, and a Juris Doctor and a Native American Law and Sovereignty certificate from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. They currently work as the Health Equity Director for the state's health subcabinet.
🌀 Theo Rose (he/him) is the Legislative and Policy Director for the Council. Prior to his current role, Theo worked in public policy research and media relations for an institute in Washington DC. More recently he has worked on researching issues of international human rights and teaching African and African-American studies.
