Please join us in welcoming our newest participant, Tranell, to Better Futures Minnesota!

Tranell recently completed his initial paid training and is now ready to take the next step: hands-on training alongside our experienced crews! At Better Futures Minnesota, we believe workforce development starts with building a strong foundation. Our participants begin with paid classroom and online safety training before heading into the field, where they gain real-world experience, develop new skills, and learn what it takes to succeed on the job.

We're excited to have Tranell on board and look forward to watching him continue to learn and grow as he works alongside our team. Congratulations, Tranell! We're glad to have you as part of Better Futures Minnesota!

❄️ Winter is right around the corner, and at Better Futures Minnesota, we’re already getting ready for the cold Minnesota weather. Each year, we provide our men with the winter gear they need to work safely outdoors, including insulated coveralls, winter jackets, warm hats, and winter work gloves.

But the need doesn’t stop at the end of the workday. We’re always grateful for additional winter items that can help keep our participants and their families warm throughout the season. If you happen to see a good sale while you’re shopping and are looking for a simple way to help, we can always use donations of new:

Last Friday, our Appliance Recycling crew finished their scheduled work a little early, but instead of calling it a day, they found another way to help. The crew headed out to finish one of our lawn care jobs before the end of the day.

That's the kind of dedication we love to see at Better Futures Minnesota. Whether they're recycling appliances, mowing lawns, working on a deconstruction project, or helping with property services, our crews understand the importance of showing up, working together, and getting the job done.

We're proud of this team for taking the initiative and making the most of their workday. Great work, guys!

♻️ Another morning, another truckload of appliances!
Our Appliance Recycling crew started the day by unloading another full truck of refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, and other appliances—and they wasted no time getting to work.

By the end of the day, we'll dismantle and responsibly recycle this entire truckload. Our team carefully separates metal, plastic, glass, wiring, and other recyclable materials, while our EPA-certified technician safely removes and recovers refrigerants from appliances that contain them. Every appliance processed helps keep valuable materials out of Minnesota landfills while supporting a cleaner, healthier environment.

Behind every truckload is a hardworking crew gaining valuable hands-on experience, building transferable skills, and making a real impact on our community.

It's just another day at Better Futures Minnesota, protecting the environment while creating opportunities through real work.
