Meet Willow, a beautiful diluted Torti with the sweetest little face and a gentle, thoughtful personality. 💜 Born 5/12/26, Willow is a petite girl who is still discovering just how wonderful life can be and she’s looking for someone special to help her along the way.

Willow is litter box trained, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on her age-appropriate vaccines.

This pretty girl may be a little shy when she first meets you, but underneath that cautious exterior is a kitten with so much potential. Willow is learning that people can be trusted, and watching her confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. Give her a little time, a few treats, some fun toys, and plenty of patience, and you’ll start seeing those adorable glimpses of the playful, curious kitten she’s becoming. 🥹

Willow isn’t necessarily going to greet you by launching herself into your arms on day one and that’s okay! For her, love is built one tiny victory at a time. The first treat taken from your hand. The first game of chase. The first time she chooses to curl up nearby. And eventually, the moment she realizes that you are her safe place. ❤️

Willow would love a confident, friendly feline companion who can help show her the ropes and remind her that the world isn’t nearly as scary as it seems. She would do best in a quiet home without small children where she can settle in at her own pace.

Meet King a handsome, Doberman who comes with the full Doberman package: natural ears, full tail, brains, beauty, and plenty of personality! 😍

At 3 years old, King is fully vetted, neutered, and ready to trade rescue life for the happily-ever-after he deserves.

✨ A Little About His Royal Highness:
👑 Good with playful, large-breed female dogs
🚫 No Cats
👧 Kids 15+
🏡 Physically fenced backyard required
🎓 Has graduated Basic Obedience Training
🧠 Smart, driven, loyal, and eager to learn
❤️ Sweet, affectionate, and VERY Velcro

King does well with playful, large-breed females and enjoys having a doggy friend around. On leash, he can get excited when he spots another dog, but he’s easily redirected and can get right back to business. 👑

If you’re looking for a personal shadow… King has entered the chat. 😂 This boy is a true Doberman and would prefer to be wherever his people are. He’s affectionate, loyal, and ready to dedicate himself to his family.

King has already put in some work, too! He has completed basic obedience training, knows his commands, and responds well to verbal corrections. He’s a smart guy who thrives when his brain and body both get a workout.

Because King can be a little mouthy during playtime, we’re looking for a home with children 15 years or older. And because this energetic boy needs room to safely zoom, a secure, physically fenced backyard is required.

🚨State of the Rescue: WE NEED YOUR HELP🚨

We try to keep things upbeat and positive here at Bluegrass Doberman Rescue, but sometimes we have to be honest about the challenges we’re facing.

Right now:
‼️APPLICATIONS are almost nonexistent.
‼️QUALIFIED ADOPTERS are almost nonexistent.
‼️QUALIFIED FOSTERS are almost nonexistent.

But our inbox?
📥 FULL of surrender requests.

Our intake numbers are at an all-time low, not because the need has decreased, but because we simply don’t have the foster homes or adoptive homes to take in more animals.

Our foster homes are completely full. And until the Doberman and cats currently in our care find their forever families, we are limited in how many more we can help.

🏡 What do we mean by “qualified foster/adopter”?

At BDR, we have the same basic requirements for fosters and adopters because many of our foster families ultimately become forever families. ❤️

We’re looking for people who can:

✅Commit to fostering a dog through their time in rescue and support them until adoption

✅Have resident animals who are:
• Spayed/neutered
• Up to date on rabies, DAPP, and bordetella vaccines
• Current on heartworm testing
• On monthly heartworm prevention

✅A physically fenced yard is required for most Dobermans who come through rescue. In some cases, we can place a dog who has successfully lived with an invisible fence previously into a home with an in ground fencing situation. Every dog is evaluated individually.

❤️ We are a FIT-FOCUSED rescue.

What does that mean?

It means we don’t place dogs on a first-come, first-served basis.

We take the time to consider the individual dog’s temperament, energy level, training, medical needs, personality, and overall needs and match them with a home that is equipped to provide the right environment and care.

Fit-focused rescue is sometimes criticized for creating “barriers” for adopters. But our ultimate goal is simple:

Find the RIGHT home for each Doberman so they can stay there for life and never have to come back into rescue.

Hershel is your classic young Velcro Doberman boy—sweet as pie, eager to be with his people, and always ready to follow you around! ❤️

This handsome red boy is still working on his confidence and learning that the world isn’t quite as scary as it sometimes seems. He’s a good boy who just needs a patient family willing to help him continue growing into the confident Doberman he’s meant to be.

🐾 Hershel LOVES TO PLAY and can be a little rough and rowdy, so a home without small dogs would be ideal.

🧸 Like many young Dobermans, Hershel still has some puppy mouthiness, which is why we’re looking for a home with children 8 years and older.

🏠 He does GREAT in his crate and is a champion at settling in when it’s time to relax. He can occasionally be a nervous tinkler, so patience and understanding will go a long way. 😉

Hershel is a sweet, goofy, affectionate young Doberman who is looking for someone to help him build confidence, continue his training, and show him just how wonderful life can be.

Aspen (DOB: 5/12/26) is blue kitten with a gentle soul and so much potential. She is litter box trained, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on her age-appropriate vaccines.

Aspen is still learning that people can be trusted. She is a shy girl who prefers to watch from a safe distance. The big world can feel a little overwhelming to her, but every day she takes small steps forward.

With a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time, Aspen has the opportunity to truly blossom. She isn’t the type of kitten who will immediately run into your arms, but the quiet victories, accepting a treat from your hand, chasing a toy, or choosing to sit nearby, will make every bit of patience worthwhile.

Because she’s still building her confidence, Aspen must be into a home with a confident, friendly feline who can help show her that the world isn’t such a scary place. Aspen requires a home without small children.
