Today, we honor Chairman Fred Hampton Sr.—a son of Chicago whose vision was rooted in unity, education, organizing, and community power.

He taught us to stand for justice, protect our communities, feed our families, and build solidarity across racial and economic lines. Though his life was taken too soon, his vision lives on.

As Families United, we carry his legacy forward by standing with families impacted by police violence, demanding accountability, and fighting for systemic change. We don’t just remember Chairman Fred Hampton—we recommit ourselves to the work.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every organizer, volunteer, community member, and local business owner who helped make The Blake 6th Annual Friends & Family Block Party a beautiful and successful day.

It takes a village to bring an event like this together, and we are truly grateful for every person who showed up, donated, volunteered, provided resources, shared their talents, supported a family, or simply came out to celebrate community. Your love and support did not go unnoticed. 🙏🏾

To the Kenosha community and all of the local businesses who continue to stand with the Blake family — thank you for opening your hearts, giving your time, and helping us create a space filled with love, fellowship, healing, and togetherness.

And to Jacob Blake — we continue to pray for you, your boys, and your entire family. We pray for continued strength, healing, peace, and protection. Your journey has touched so many lives, and we will continue to stand beside you and your family.

(THIS is the kind of news that deserves a HUGE round of applause. Florida law enforcement and its partners recovered 163 missing children during Operation Statewide Shield, making it one of the largest child recovery operations in American history. These babies ranged in age from just 2 months old to 17 years old. In only five days, 46 children were recovered in the Tampa Bay region, 41 in Miami, 32 in Jacksonville, 21 in Orlando, 12 in Fort Myers, 8 in Pensacola and 3 in the Tallahassee region. The operation even resulted in children being located or recovered across six states, one U.S. territory and 12 countries. Many of these children had reportedly experienced abuse, neglect, exploitation or exposure to other criminal activity. I give law enforcement criticism when criticism is deserved, so l am more than happy to give them their flowers when they deserve them too. To every officer, investigator, social worker, medical professional, victim advocate and organization who played a role in finding these children and getting them somewhere safe, WELL DONE. Seriously. This is beautiful.

mattered. I hope this becomes a streak that never stops.

Keep searching. Keep recovering them. Keep protecting them. Keep bringing these babies home whenever it is safe and possible to do so. A huge round of applause to everyone involved in Operation Statewide Shield. THIS is work worth celebrating.)

🏙️ 📍• IG@blackmillionaires_ • A federal judge has granted class-action status to a lawsuit accusing the Chicago Police Department of disproportionately targeting Black and Latino drivers through its traffic-stop program.

U.S. District Judge Mary M. Rowland granted class certification on July 27, expanding the case to cover Black and Latino drivers who have been stopped by Chicago police during the past five years, as well as those who could be stopped under the challenged policy in the future.

The lawsuit, originally filed in 2023 by five Black and Latino Chicagoans with assistance from the ACLU of Illinois, alleges CPD's large-scale traffic-stop practices violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment and the Illinois Civil Rights Act. The plaintiffs are seeking changes to the department's practices rather than individual monetary damages.

In her ruling, Rowland said the plaintiffs presented substantial evidence that Black and Latino motorists are stopped at disproportionately high rates compared with White motorists. Research submitted in the case found Black and Latino drivers were stopped at approximately twice the rate of White drivers for moving violations.

Granting class-action status does not mean the judge has ruled that Chicago or CPD illegally discriminated against drivers. It allows the claims of the larger group to proceed together. A trial will ultimately determine whether the city's traffic-stop program unlawfully discriminates based on race.

71 years ago today. The courage and actions taken by Emmett Till's grieving mother, Mamie Till Mobley set off a course of action that let the world know what happened to her only son, who was brutally murdered at the tender age of 14 on , 1955.

Mamie Till-Mobley, a native Mississippian, transformed her unimaginable grief into a national call for justice. By insisting that the world see what had been done to her son, she forced America to confront the brutal reality of racial violence and helped change the course of American history.

Beyond the tragedy, Mamie's love for her only son, humanity, courage, resilience, legacy, strength, commitment to her faith, education and civic engagement helped shape and inspire generations of young leaders to find their voices.

We will continue to preserve their undeniable legacy.
