The meat industry likes to paint the illusion of consumer choice. If you stroll down the supermarket aisle, you’ll see dozens of brand names, including Smithfield, Johnsonville, and Hillshire Farms.

But the reality is that just four corporations own 80-85% of the industry.

Their market power enables them to set prices, marginalize smaller competitors, and shape the market to their advantage.

This isn’t a free market. It’s a system designed to take from farmers, small businesses, and communities while benefiting only a handful of corporations.

Learn how we are working with farmers to change the system at TheTransfarmationProject.org.

Amanda Owens is going back to her roots! With , she teamed up with her dad to build a new future for their family farm. 🌱

At a time when one-third of American farmers are over 65 and fewer young people are entering the field, stories like Amanda’s show what’s possible when tradition meets innovation. 🌿

At the Transfarmation Project®, we’re also working alongside farmers to make transitions like this possible. We support shifts to more sustainable, resilient systems that keep family farms thriving for generations to come.

Follow along and learn how farm transitions can shape the future of agriculture.

Megacorporations have normalized dangerous working conditions, saying it’s “just part of the job.”

But it’s really a crisis.

It doesn’t have to be this way. A safer, fairer food system is possible when we invest in solutions that put people first.

Join us in transforming the food system to protect workers, support farmers, and build a better future for all.

A major pillar of our work is NARRATIVE CHANGE, meaning we want to influence what people think about . That's a tough goal to track without good, hard data.

That's where you come in, friends!

Can you please take a minute to fill out a super-quick survey? It's only seven questions!

The USDA's new $1.63 billion specialty crop assistance program is a step in the right direction and one that many farmers have long awaited.

But while the assistance will certainly help, many producers are still projected to lose thousands of dollars per acre even after receiving payments.

The reality is that one-time relief checks can't solve long-term challenges.
Specialty crop farmers don't just need help surviving. They need policies, support, and a food system that allows them to thrive.
