Congratulations to the latest graduates of Goodwill Kentucky’s Construction and Skilled Trades Pathway Cohort!

This six-day training gave participants the chance to earn an OSHA-10 certification or Procore credential, strengthen their resumes and interview skills, and prepare for careers in construction and related trades.

Woda Cooper Companies, Inc., which is currently building Opportunity Village on the Norton Healthcare Goodwill Opportunity Campus, served as the employer partner for this cohort. Graduates will now interview with Woda Cooper trade partners and other Goodwill Kentucky employer partners for potential employment opportunities.

Thank you to Woda Cooper for being a valued partner and for helping connect Kentuckians with training and job opportunities in growing industries.

A big congratulations to the latest graduates of our Construction and Skilled Trades Pathway cohort!

Over six days, participants built skills for careers in construction, earned an OSHA-10 certification or Procore credential, and prepared for employer interviews.

Woda Cooper Companies, Inc. is currently building Opportunity Village in West Louisville, and served as the flagship employer partner for this cohort. This is super cool for the graduates, who will be interviewing with Woda Cooper and possibly be working on Opportunity Village, just steps away from the West Louisville Opportunity Center where they did their training.

We’re excited to see what’s next for this group!

Mission Monday 💙

Unsure of what his next career move would be, Jesse took a leap of faith and joined the first Fiber Optics Training Program at Goodwill Kentucky’s Lexington Opportunity Center.

Just three weeks of hands on training opened the door to a new career. Today, Jesse is thriving as a fiber optics technician and already working toward his next goal of owning his own business.

“It’s a major blessing,” Jesse shared. “I can actually provide for my children now.”

From taking a chance on something new to building a career with a future, Jesse’s story is what opportunity is all about.

And it’s more than just a free bag. Reusable bags helped Goodwill Kentucky keep more than 4 million plastic bags out of landfills last year.

This week, we celebrated the latest graduates of our Construction and Skilled Trades Pathway cohort in Bowling Green.

Participants completed hands-on training, earned OSHA-10 or Procore credentials, and then had the opportunity to sit down with local employers for interviews following graduation.

That connection from training to opportunity is exactly what this work is all about. One cohort at a time and one person at a time, we’re helping Kentuckians build skills, remove barriers, and take the next step toward meaningful employment.
