The fourth and final board officer for our 33rd season is our secretary, Christie Tompkins.

Christie has been a member of Voces Novae since 2004. She has served the ensemble in a variety of roles including Membership Chair, general Board Member, Treasurer, President and now as Secretary. Her favorite role though is singer! When not singing or performing/music directing, Christie runs a project management team for Marsh to pay the bills so she can enjoy lots of creative endeavors. She loves crafting, scrapbooking, her Labradors and kitties, and most of all traveling (especially Disney cruising) with her hubby Lee!

The third board member we’d like you to meet is another new addition to the board this year. Please say hello to our treasurer, Elizabeth Weaver!

Elizabeth is a native of Southern Illinois and tentatively also lays claim to St. Louis. While attending Southeast Missouri State University, she found herself in calculus and music theory for fun, decided that probably wasn't normal, and ended up majoring in math and music. After graduate work at UK (because there is only one correct Cardinal), she was briefly a professor at IUS, spent 11 years in academic publishing, and now finds herself wearing many hats at Bellarmine University. In her spare time, she enjoys learning how to play the guitar, reading, traveling, vintage shopping, and going to far too many concerts.

The next board member we’d like to introduce you to is Scott Burress, who is our vice president this year! This is Scott’s first year on the board.

Scott Burress is the current VN board Vice President and sings tenor. He taught choral music in public schools for 15 years and has been in music ministry for 36 years. He is a former State Choral Division Chair for the Kentucky Music Educators Association. He is currently on staff at Middletown Christian Church and on staff with the Louisville Youth Choir. He is active as a guest clinician and conductor. He also serves as an adjudicator for the KMEA All State Chorus program and district festivals.

As we near the start of our season, we wanted to introduce you to our 2026-2027 board officers. First up is President Lori Perkins, who is starting her third year as board president!

Lori has been a member of Voces Novae since graduating from U of L in 2007 and sang for VN’s founding Artistic Director, Frank A. Heller III, in Louisville Youth Choir as a kid. She was a proud member of Floyd Central High School’s choral program under the direction of VN’s current Artistic Director, Angela Vaughn Hampton. In her spare time, Lori loves traveling with her husband, spending time with friends and family, going to concerts and seeing musicals, dreaming about her next Walt Disney World vacation, shopping, and petting dogs.

🎶⚾ **What an incredible evening at the ballpark!** ⚾🎶

Today, members of Voces Novae had the tremendous honor of singing the National Anthem for the Louisville Bats! 🇺🇸❤️

We are so grateful to the Louisville Bats organization for welcoming us and giving our singers this wonderful opportunity to share our music with the community.

A very special thank you to Jerome Pascua for announcing us, capturing video and photos, and helping make this experience so memorable. We truly appreciate you taking the time to celebrate and share this moment with us!

We are honored, grateful, and still smiling from this special experience. 🎶✨

Due to this week’s rainy weather, the Bats have had to adjust today’s game schedule to accommodate a game that was previously delayed, so we will now be singing the national anthem before game 1 starts at 4:35. See you there!
