Hi MADD Kentucky!
We’re just 2 days away from the 2026 Move With MADD Kentucky event! The countdown is almost over, and we’re so excited to come together with you to honor victims, celebrate survivors, and take steps toward a future free of impaired driving.
Move With MADD serves as MADD Kentucky’s signature fundraising event and the funds raised go to support our small team in Kentucky as we work to end drunk and drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking through our various roles and programs. This funding also helps to support things like our efforts to get together and write cards to victims and survivors, law enforcement and other community partners, in addition to special events like our Law Enforcement Recognition Event.
This year’s Move With MADD will be held on October 17, 2026, at the Kentucky State Capitol. Additional details are provided below:
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: This year, we will have a sign decorating table where you all will be welcome to design and create your own yard signs that may be placed along the walk route. Blank signs, stakes and large sharpies will be provided, but we encourage you to bring any other decorations you wish to put on your sign, and a photo of you or your loved one if you would like to include that.
SILENT AUCTION PREVIEW: We will be hosting a silent auction again this year with some exciting items up for grabs including a $450 gift certificate to Genesis Diamonds, an Aqua-Tots Swim School gift basket, Shady Rays sunglasses and more!
PARKING: The best parking options for the event will be in front of the Capitol along the flowerbeds and State Street. Additional parking is available on the drive around the Capitol going up and then coming back down the other side in front of and right below the Governor’s Mansion. To get to the Capitol, if any streets are blocked, you may have to come to Old Lawrenceburg Road and up the parking garage ramp.
RUN OF SHOW:
Registration begins at 9 a.m.
The event will begin on the front steps of the capitol building (located at 700 Capital Avenue Frankfort, KY 40601).
If anyone arrives that has not already registered for the walk, we are happy to take registrations in-person. We would love for as many people to join us as possible for this exciting day!
If you have pre-registered online, please visit the registration booth to pick up your event goodie bag and your walk t-shirt (must have registered by September 25 to be guaranteed a walk t-shirt).
The program begins at approximately 10:00 a.m.
We will have a brief program, followed by a group photo before the walk begins.
The walk will begin at approximately 10:20 a.m.
Please feel free to walk as much or as little as you would like! There is a bit of a hill on the sides of the capitol building, but the sidewalk is level, and if you need assistance, please let me or any of the MADD staff know and we are happy to walk with you!
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions – we look forward to seeing you on October 17!
