Tonight, we had the honor of hosting our Law Enforcement Recognition Ceremony; a meaningful evening dedicated to recognizing the officers, agencies, victims, survivors, advocates, and community partners who work tirelessly to prevent impaired driving and support those impacted by these devastating crashes.

Thank you to every law enforcement officer who continues to protect our roads and communities with compassion, dedication, and service. Your work saves lives every single day.

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the victims and survivors who shared space with us tonight. Your strength, resilience, and voices are at the heart of MADD’s mission.

A special thank you as well to our volunteers, caterers, venue staff, and everyone who helped make tonight possible behind the scenes. Events like these truly take a community.

During tonight’s Victim Impact Panel, we welcomed a new survivor who shared his story publicly for the very first time at the hospital that helped save his life — University of Louisville Hospital.

MADD Kentucky is honored to have Lincoln as part of our team, using his voice and experience to raise awareness about the devastating impact of the choice to drink and drive.

Bros Against Drunk Driving - BADD

They’re trying it again.

A handful of politicians want to get rid of a law that stops drunk driving before it happens. A law that saves more than 10,000 lives. They’re calling it a “government-controlled .” That’s categorically false.

The truth? This bipartisan law only stops people from driving when they’re illegally drunk or high. That’s it. It does not compromise individual freedoms nor collect personal data. No one has the right to drive drunk.

Congress has already rejected attempts to repeal the HALT Drunk Driving Law twice because both parties know drunk driving is dangerous and preventable. Every day, 32 people die because someone chose to drive drunk.

This isn’t a game. It’s not politics. It’s about keeping families safe.

Yesterday, MADD Kentucky UAD was asked to be apart of the Arrive Alive Tour Pre-Prom Safety Fair at Gil Lynn Park in Dayton, KY.

The opportunities of partnership and fellowship were endless. The kids got to answer Drunk and Drugged Driving trivia for different prizes. In addition to more resources outside of just prom.

It was a warm, sunny day, we couldn’t be more grateful for Dayton and Newport county schools for showing up and showing out!

I think my favorite part of the entire day was consistently yelling “spin the wheel, spin the wheel!”
