Thank you to all our volunteers today. The dunking booth was a huge hit! Shout out to Ross, Chief Flynn, Sgt. Hagen, Firefighter Vinup, and Paramedic Lewis for being good sports and taking a turn in the tank. We got to talk to some great folks, get the word out about our charity, and raise some money to give back to those in need. That's what it's all about.

Our Beginning

St. Matthews Fire and Rescue has seen steady growth since 2017 with the addition of our EMS Division and the merger with Lyndon Fire and Rescue. Thus, bringing together nearly 100 employees who serve the citizens of both cities (St.Matthews and Lyndon) 24 hours a day and 365 days per year. Each of these employees are well trained, equipped and ready to serve our community.

It became obvious that passing the “boot” to help raise money for employees who needed emergency funds, experienced a family tragedy or was in need of some other physiological need was an outdated practice. So the journey began........

With the generous assistance of the St. Matthews Fire Department Alumni Association a fund has been established to “take care of our own” without taxpayer dollars for employees who might need assistance. Employees participate (voluntarily) through payroll deduction and a committee was established to generate other tax deductible sources of revenue.

Donations made payable to the “St.Matthews Fire and Rescue Benevolence Fund” are tax deductible as the association holds a 501C3 status.
