Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park is the Friends group working to support the Cape Henlopen park. Directors serve 2-year terms which are staggered.

We have a wide variety of programs...many of which are unique due to the geographical location and environmental diversity of the Cape Henlopen area. ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF CAPE HENLOPEN STATE PARK
FOCHSP is a volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by an 11 member Board of Directors. Directors are limited to three consecutive terms. Elections are held annually for new Directors and Di

rectors wishing to serve an additional term. Following the election, the newly elected Board of Directors chooses its officers for one year terms. The outgoing President takes the title of Immediate Past President and remains on the Board for one year as a non-voting member.



​Board meetings are usually held on the 2nd Thursday of each month (except July & December) All members are welcome to attend Board Meetings. Note: The dates and times of the meetings are occasionally subject to change . 🌎💚 The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park celebrated the ultimate Mother this weekend — Mother Earth! 💚🌎

A HUGE thank you to the 21 amazing volunteers who joined the Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park for Trails Day at Gordon’s Pond in Rehoboth Beach!

Volunteers split into 3 teams — one crew tackled the parking lot while two teams headed to the beach. Together, they collected more than 70 pounds of trash and helped keep one of Delaware’s most beautiful coastal areas clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. ♻️🌿

Every bag filled, every piece picked up, and every helping hand truly makes a difference. THANK YOU for showing your love for Cape Henlopen State Park! ☀️💚

💚 THANK YOU! 💚

A huge thank you to the 41 incredible volunteers who joined the Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park for our Earth Day Cleanup in Lewes!

On a beautiful spring morning, volunteers spread out across the Lewes Town Beach, both parking lots, Cape Henlopen Drive to the Dairy Queen on Savannah Road, Savannah Road to the canal bridge, and the bike path from American Legion Road to Freeman Highway.

Together, this amazing group collected approximately 150 pounds of trash and debris — helping keep our beaches, roadsides, and community beautiful for everyone to enjoy. 🌎♻️

Your hard work truly made a difference, and we are so grateful for your time, energy, and community spirit!

Join the Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park for our next Trails Day on Saturday, May 9, 2026!

We’ll meet at the Gordon’s Pond Parking Lot at 8:45 AM, then head out in teams to care for the parking area, beach, and trail entrance.

🌱 May’s focus: clearing debris, pruning, and trash pickup.

☀️ Come prepared: Closed-toe shoes, gloves, a hat, sunscreen, and a bag for collected items. (We’ll provide the tools!)

💚 Every small effort makes a big difference in protecting this special place.
