Meet Mia – A Resilient, Playful, and Loving Companion! 💛

Mia is a 4-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart who’s come a long way since she was found on the streets of Kansas City, Kansas. She has blossomed into a confident, affectionate pup who’s ready for her forever home.

These days, Mia loves being a ride-along buddy—she enjoys running errands, exploring home improvement stores, and meeting new people (especially those with treats!). She’s gentle when taking snacks from both her foster and friendly strangers, and her social confidence continues to grow every day.

Mia is leash-trained and also worked with professional trainers to build her confidence and reduce her fear-based reactions. She’s made amazing progress and knows several commands, including sit, wait, with me, come, kennel, and is currently learning leave it. She’s crate-trained and happily settles in with a peanut butter Kong.

At home, Mia is a great balance of playful and calm. She loves romping in the yard, playing chase or wrestling with her foster sister, and showing off her epic zoomies before curling up in a cozy spot for a nap.

Mia can be protective of her resources around other dogs, but she’s making steady progress. She would thrive either as an only dog or with a larger, calm, and playful canine companion. She’s not a fit for homes with cats or young children.

Mia can jump a short fence, so she’ll need a home with a tall, secure privacy fence or an adopter committed to leash-walking her for potty breaks.

Mia has a big heart and is ready to share it with the right person or family. If you're looking for a loyal, smart, and affectionate dog who’s already put in the work to become her best self—Mia might just be the one!

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Checkers! 🖤 Checkers is a 3-month-old brown tabby and white kitten with the sweetest personality. He loves to play and burn off his kitten energy, especially with his best buddy, OJ. These two love chasing, tackling, and wrestling with each other before settling down after the fun. Checkers would do best adopted with his brother OJ or to a home with another friendly cat.

Checkers is also a very affectionate boy with the cutest little meows and a purr that lets you know just how happy he is. He happily soaks up all the pets and cuddles his people are willing to give. Playful, social, and incredibly sweet, Checkers is ready to bring plenty of purrs and kitten fun to his new home.

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Milo! 💙 Milo is a smart, beautiful Cane Corso and hound mix whose goal in life is to be a ray of sunshine and happiness for his people. He is playful, clever, and wants to do everything with his humans. His favorite spot is in your lap or at your feet.

Milo is a very social and affectionate dog, and would do well in an active home where he can play or chase. He would prefer to not be left alone for long periods of time, but if his humans can't be around, he would do best with a dog sibling to help keep him entertained. A large family would also suit him, as he is full of cuddles and good with kids. Milo is cat curious, but still figuring out how to make friends with them. He is still learning his manners and is house trained.

Milo would benefit from socialization as Cane Corsi are protectors. Ensuring he meets a variety of people and pets will help him know his behavioral expectations. He is very eager to learn and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement and treats. He is a truly devoted companion and will follow you anywhere. He deserves a home that will be equally dedicated to him.

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Snowball! 🤍 Snowball is a 3-month-old gray and white kitten with a gentle, independent personality. She can be timid at first and prefers to take things at her own pace, but once she feels comfortable, she’ll seek you out when she’s ready for attention and affection.

Being picked up isn’t really Snowball’s thing — she prefers to choose when and how she gets her love. Having a feline friend helps her feel more confident, so she needs to be adopted with another kitten or into a home with a friendly cat who can show her the ropes. She has also been around dogs and would do fine in a home with a respectful dog.

Snowball is looking for a patient family who will give her the time and space to settle in and enjoy watching her confidence grow.

💔🌈 Run free, sweet Mango.

Many of you remember Mango, the brother of our beloved Lady and King. We’ve known this sweet boy and his family since December 2021, and he will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Mango hasn’t been feeling well, and yesterday we took him to Second Chances Animal Clinic. Bloodwork and an ultrasound revealed anemia, elevated kidney values, and masses on his spleen and liver. With broken hearts, his family made the difficult decision to help him across the Rainbow Bridge and spare him further suffering. 💔

Thank you, Second Chances Animal Clinic, for caring for Mango and helping us give him the compassionate goodbye he deserved. ❤️

Mango, you were loved. You mattered. You will never be forgotten. Give Lady and King some love for us. 🌈🐾

After **629 days in foster care**, our sweet Charlie and Beauty are FINALLY ADOPTED! 🏡❤️🐾

These two have waited so long for their chance. Bonded, FIV-positive, and so deserving of a family who would see past the labels and love them for exactly who they are. And now? They get to start their next chapter TOGETHER! 🥹💕

This is what rescue is all about. It’s the long waits, the days of wondering when their person will come, the hope that never fades, and that absolutely incredible moment when we finally get to say **THEY’RE HOME!** 🥳

Charlie and Beauty, your foster chapter may be over, but your happily-ever-after is just beginning. May your new life be filled with cozy naps, endless treats, all the love your hearts can hold, and absolutely no more waiting for your forever family. 🐱💗
