✨ GPC Spotlight: Stephanie Schweitzer Dixon, M.S., GPC ✨

With more than 25 years in the grants profession, Stephanie initially questioned whether earning the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential was necessary. Today, she says it was one of the most rewarding professional decisions she has made.

As she prepared for the exam, Stephanie discovered that the journey was about more than testing her knowledge. It was an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with fellow grant professionals. Through a virtual study group led by Karen Lampert, she gained valuable insights, built lasting professional relationships, and found a supportive community that encouraged one another every step of the way.

Stephanie shares that earning her GPC expanded her professional network, strengthened her presence in the field, and reinforced the value of lifelong learning, no matter how many years of experience you have. She also credits the Assel Grant Services and GPCI Scholarship Committee for helping make her certification journey possible through a GPC Exam Scholarship.

GPCI is celebrating an exciting milestone: 721 credentialed GPC professionals and five-year renewal of our NCCA accreditation. Now, as we work toward 850 credential holders, we are seeking GPC-certified professionals to help lead the way.

Serving on the GPCI Board of Directors is an opportunity to:

📣 Call for Item Writers — Deadline Approaching!

Help shape the future of the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential.
The Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) is seeking dedicated professionals to join the 2026 Item Writing Workgroup (IWW). This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued excellence and integrity of the GPC exam by helping review existing exam items and develop new ones aligned with the latest competencies and skills.

We're looking for collaborative, research-minded professionals who are passionate about advancing the grant profession. While many participants are GPC credential holders, researchers, federal and state grant professionals, and policy professionals are also encouraged to apply.

What to expect:
✅ Approximately 4 to 6 hours of volunteer work per month over one year
✅ Virtual collaboration through web-based meetings
✅ Opportunity for selected participants to attend the in-person Item Writing Workshop in San Antonio, Texas, November 2 to 4, 2026, before the GPA GrantSummit Conference
✅ GPC participants will earn CEUs upon completion of their one-year term
✅ Hotel accommodations for Monday night and a $150 stipend are provided for those selected for the in-person workshop
