Y Club and Camp - YMCA of Greater Kansas City Y Club and Camp at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City provide kids a place to learn, grow and thrive.

Our qualified, trained staff engages youth in active and purposeful play in a way that encourages them to exercise their bodies and their minds. With Y Club before and after school, children in kindergarten through 12 years of age will enjoy and benefit from

Homework enrichment – enhances and supports school day learning while providing youth with homework support

Physical activity and healthy s

nacks – youth are provided with the opportunity to enjoy healthy snack choices along with 30 minutes of physical fitness daily

Small and large group activities – youth make meaningful and intentional choices with hands on activities focusing on arts and humanities, STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), nutrition education and service learning

Focus on building community – focus on building positive relationships and enhancing conflict resolution skills through team building activities and day-to-day interactions with peers and Y associates

Youth voice and leadership – opportunities for youth to provide input in their Y Club, from helping to develop daily activities and snack menus to leading activities with peers

Every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and included. 💙

Yesterday, our YMCA Youth Development staff kicked off the school year with an inspiring keynote from Jen Greenstreet, President and filmmaker of Just Like You Films, Inc.

Through real stories told by children with autism, Down syndrome, dyslexia, cleft palate, food allergies, and other differences, our teams were reminded that empathy is one of the most powerful tools we can bring into our before- and after-school programs.

Thanks to a new partnership and grant funding, these empathy-building resources will soon be in the hands of teachers and childcare providers across Kansas City—helping create more inclusive spaces where every child can thrive.

Because every kid deserves to be seen. And every kid is, at heart, just like you. 💙

Curiosity Is in Full Swing at Cedar Creek Camp!🌟

Campers kicked off the week with a visit from FOX4 News Kansas City Meteorologist Michelle Bogowith, who taught them all about weather... and the hottest topic of the day: tornadoes! 🌪️ Safe to say, our campers had lots of great questions.

Then, the excitement continued when Officer Weathers stopped by with a real police car. 🚔 Campers got an up-close look inside and learned about the tools officers use every day!

And the adventure isn't over yet... Firefighters will be visiting later this week! 🚒

At the Y, every day is a chance to explore, discover, and spark a lifelong love of learning.

Our Youth Development Services team works hard to create a summer filled with fun, adventure, and unforgettable moments for campers. That includes a weekly visit from Kona Ice at every single YMCA Summer Camp location. Yep, every camp. Every week. 😎

A huge congratulations to our first-ever Y Camp Adventure Challenge Traveling Trophy winners: Pathfinder, Trailridge, Prairie, and Highlands! 🎉💙

These camps went above and beyond to create meaningful experiences that helped campers build social-emotional skills through creativity, connection, and community. From encouraging teamwork to creating spaces where every child felt welcomed and included, their impact reached far beyond the activity itself.
