💙 Freedom Fund Update | Thank You for Showing Up 💙

First, thank you. Because of your generosity, prayer, and quick action, we’ve already raised $665 toward this young man’s recovery. Every dollar represents hope, belief, and the decision to stand in the gap for someone fighting for their life.

As we’ve continued working behind the scenes, we now have clarity on the full financial picture, and we want to be completely transparent with you:

Total cost of treatment: $11,000
• Room & Board: $1,500
• Deductible: $1,500
• Insurance covers: $6,200 after deductible is met

That leaves the family with a total patient responsibility of $4,800.

Here’s the hope-filled part: if we are able to pay in full, the treatment center will apply a 15% discount, bringing the total needed down to $4,080. Once we reach that amount, we will immediately deactivate the fundraiser.

Because of the sensitive nature of this situation, we are protecting this young man’s privacy. Recovery is sacred, and dignity matters. If you’d like more details, please feel free to message me privately.

This is more than numbers. This is a life choosing recovery. This is a family saying “yes” to help. This is a window of opportunity that won’t stay open long.

If you feel led, please give. If you can’t give, please share. And above all, please pray. Together, we can help carry the weight so this young man can focus on healing and finding freedom. 🙏

Save One Life is shouting a HUGE Happy Soberversary to Stephanie Peters today! Congratulations on 4 years of recovery!

Stephanie writes:
"4 years sober today!

I was in active addiction for 11 years. After my brother died in 2015 I spiraled out of control and my addiction was worse than ever. I smoked M**h EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I quit my job, cut everybody off, isolated myself and stopped caring about my life.

All I wanted was to be high and got to the point where I could not function without it!

During that time I went through m**h psychosis and extreme paranoia.

I lived in darkness for MANY MANY YEARS.

My husband and I were in active addiction together and after 11 years we finally decided enough is enough! Although quitting was NOT EASY, we went through severe drug withdrawals as m**h was not the only drug we were doing! There were times I didn't want to live anymore, BUT there IS a light at the end of the tunnel! Just keep going and NEVER LOOK BACK! Recovery IS POSSIBLE!!

4 years sober today!!"

We are SO proud of you Stephane!

This post, originally written by the author below, is so true for so many men & women.

In my personal case, my abuser did all of the below and he DID hit me. Square in the face, driving down the road. That wasn’t the first time and it wasn’t the last time, but it was the worst time. The police showed up and I lied about what happened. I lied to my mom, my dad, everyone at work. I didn’t want to be “the next girl that sent him to jail.” I kept quiet to protect him even though he never protected me.

“HE DIDN’T HIT ME.

He just went through my phone every time I was in the shower,

Provoking fights that would last for hours,

Always apologizing with a bouquet of flowers.

He didn’t hit me.

He just hated all my friends.

Told me they were no good and that I should just stay in.

He was careful to always remind me I was unworthy,

And any time I spoke to a man, he would accuse me of being flirty.

He laughed, saying no one else would ever love me,

Making me feel nothing but useless and ugly.

He didn’t hit me.

He would just break my things on the rare occasions I decided to go out,

Coming home to his aggressive shouts.

He just deleted all my contacts who were men,

Telling me to never speak to them again.

He didn’t hit me.

He just wouldn’t listen when I said no,

Every day stealing a little more of my glow.

He would criticize my appearance,

Calling me stupid, every day weakening my resilience.

He didn’t hit me.

He would just threaten his own life when I would try to leave,

A burden no 19-year-old should receive.

He didn’t hit me.

He just made me hate myself every day.

Worried how the hell I would get away.

He didn’t hit me.

Until one day, he overheard a call.

Hearing that I was leaving, he pushed me toward the wall.

But, he didn’t hit me." Author: Emily Cutshaw

On my mind... buckle up, buttercups, because it could be a lot...

1. I promise that The post being "covered up" as graphic content with the eagle and the Bible verse is nothing sinister! It is because the image says, "... s e e k... t o.... d e s t r o y" (spelling it in hopes that I don't get flagged.

Christians, please stop being so offendable (don't think it's a word, but here we are). Please... Facebook isn't stopping you from posting about God or the like. We, in America, are not being persecuted (yet). Ask the Christians in China about persecution. It doesn't look like Facebook covering a post.

2. When I see people posting videos or making statements about people watching and laughing at them, my heart aches... I wonder, if it was their child or family member, how they'd feel about it. Typically speaking, these videos are laughing at or making fun of drug addicts, homeless or people who have serious mental health issues. It is not funny. Not even close.

Stop, please. Please stop it! Take the person that you're making fun of or laughing at and pretend it's your child. Your heart will ache, and maybe you won't make fun of them.

Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

On this day in Overdose Awareness Month:

Per FOX4 News Kansas City: Clay County deputies arrest man with enough fentanyl to kill thousands.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 21-year-old Clay County man has been arrested for multiple drug trafficking charges after deputies found enough fentanyl to kill about two-thirds of the Kansas City, Missouri population in his car.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, Josiah J. Langston was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 15 near the 3900 block of North Skiles Avenue.

Deputies said they had been searching for Langston due to a previous drug trafficking warrant. However, when they approached Langston, he attempted to flee by ramming the patrol. He reportedly failed to escape and was quickly placed under arrest.

After he was in custody, investigators searched Langston’s car and found 1.5 pounds of powdered fentanyl and 0.4 pounds of m**hamphetamine. According to the Sheriff’s Department, two milligrams of fentanyl could be lethal, meaning this quantity could kill about 327,000 people.

Langston was charged with two counts of first-degree drug trafficking and one count of resisting arrest. This is in addition to his previous drug trafficking charge.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges, including federal charges, are possible.

Langston is being held at the Clay County Detention Center on a $450,000 bond.

“This one… nobody talks about this one!

Forgiving oneself for som**hing like this is not a one time thing. There are times I have to forgive myself daily and other times, it doesn’t cross my mind.

I could go months without thinking about it and suddenly a memory will flash in my head and before I know it, I’m in a full blown irrational anxiety attack.

Each time that happens, I am able to go to Mike, who reminds me of who I am in Jesus and how far I’ve come! I am able to have very honest and real conversations with my kids as adults and walk through it with them as needed.

I’m thankful to take this journey one day at a time and to be in a place of forgiveness today!”
