Dr. Inez Y. Kaiser was the first Black woman to own a national public relations firm, the first Black woman admitted to PRSA in 1966, and a trusted counselor to two U.S. presidents. Her leadership, excellence, and commitment to community service continue to inspire the next generation of communicators.
In her honor, the Greater Kansas City Chapter of PRSA is once again accepting applications for the 2026 Inez Y. Kaiser GKC-PRSA Memorial Scholarship:
Two scholarships
$2,500 each
Open to Black/African American juniors and first-semester seniors in public relations or communications programs nationwide
Minimum 3.0 GPA required
Applicants should demonstrate leadership, commitment to public relations excellence, and volunteerism, values that defined Dr. Kaiser’s legacy.
