We have to give a HUGE shoutout to our incredible PTA volunteer and Field Day chair extraordinaire, Maureen Knechtel! 💚☀️ Maureen spends months planning every detail of Field Day for our Explorers. From organizing activities and building a color coded master schedule to coordinating logistics across the entire school, booking inflatables, the magician, and storyteller, she truly does it all. She also brings dozens of volunteers from Milligan University, where she teaches in the Physician Assistant program, to help make the day run smoothly from start to finish.
Everything our students enjoyed during Field Day, including inflatables, popsicles, special guests, and activities, was funded through PTA support, and Maureen gives her time, energy, and leadership completely for free. Her dedication to Lake Ridge over the years has been nothing short of amazing, and Field Day runs “smooth like butter” because of the countless hours she pours into it behind the scenes. With her youngest child now finishing 5th grade, we honestly do not know what we are going to do without her next year. Thank you, Maureen, for everything you have done for our school, staff, and Explorers over the years! 💙
