🎄 HELP MAKE THE HOLIDAYS A LITTLE BRIGHTER! 🎁

The Giving Tree is back, and we’re collecting gifts to help our neighbors this holiday season! ❤️

Here’s how you can help spread some Scout-sized kindness:

🌟 SUBMIT — Leaders can confidentially submit Scouts to the Giving Tree by November 23.

🎁 SHOP — Purchase the listed items at the Scout Shop in November and December, then leave them with the staff.

🎄 DISTRIBUTE — Council and shop employees will work together to make sure every gift reaches its Scout!

👀 KEEP AN EYE OUT! The Giving Tree will be popping up at The Sequoyah Council Service Center soon after the ghouls and goblins clear out! 👻🎃

Every gift is a little reminder that someone cares. Let’s make some holiday magic happen! ✨

A Vigil Honor member, Scott brings his experience in the Order of the Arrow to this important leadership role. As our Lodge looks ahead to the next chapter, we're excited for what's to come!

🌧️ **WEATHER UPDATE: Davy Crockett Birthplace Service Day**

We're keeping an eye on the forecast! Our restoration work day at David Crockett Birthplace State Park on October 10 will now run from *9 AM–1 PM* due to the weather outlook.

☔ *Please bring rain gear* and come prepared for wet conditions.

We'll be monitoring the weather throughout the morning and may need to wrap up earlier than 1 PM if conditions require it. This adjustment follows guidance from the park rangers, and safety remains our priority.

Thank you for being flexible and helping us continue this important restoration work. We'll see you Saturday—rain or shine, as conditions safely allow! 🌱

🌄 Reminder! The Sequoyah Council Service Center will be closed Monday, October 12, in observance of Indigenous Peoples Day.

We take this day to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, traditions and contributions of Indigenous peoples.

We’ll be back to our regular hours on Tuesday, October 13. 🧡

🌱 More than two years later, the work continues.

When Hurricane Helene devastated our region in 2024, David Crockett Birthplace State Park was among the places impacted. Today, the work of restoring the park is still underway.
On October 10, Sequoyah Lodge will be at the park helping transplant sycamore and goldenrod saplings as part of that ongoing restoration.
And this project carries a little extra meaning for us. Our council’s Camp Davy Crockett carries the name of the legendary Tennessean whose 240th birthday is being marked this year.
The Scout Oath calls us to “help other people at all times.” This is one way we can put those words into action—and help care for a piece of Tennessee history in the process.

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

In observance of Labor Day, the Sequoyah Council Service Center and Johnson City Scout Shop will be closed Monday, September 7.

We’ll reopen with regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend! ❤️🤍💙
