Avoiding language that blames and insults is important. For many years we’ve heard society attack victims and claim their abuse is false. Statistics show that only 2-8% of sexual abuse victims are lying. For children, those numbers are even lower.

When a child asks for help, hear them. If they trust you enough to tell you what happened, don’t make the mistake of deciding they are lying right away. Listen with compassion, make a report, and leave the investigation up to the professionals! It’s not your job to decide the truth, it’s your job to support the child and validate their experience. 💙

We are so thankful for the opportunity to speak to Ashley Academy caregivers about digital dangers and keeping kids safe online. We will be speaking to the students about how they can stay safe online as well!

Ashley has also educated their staff on recognizing and reporting child abuse. Partnerships with our schools are essential to ensuring our local children and families are educated!! 💙📚
