Appalachian Banner Academy layers education with therapeutic practices in a nurturing learning environment. We help students with Autism and other developmental and behavioral disorders build necessary academic, social, and adapti

ve skills, while providing individualized behavioral intervention and support. Our Vision
To create a safe space that will change the way children with ASD live and learn. Our Approach
Appalachian Banner Academy sees behaviors as communication and efforts to connect instead of an inconvenience or hinderance to the learning of others. By approaching the children with compassion and empathy, and their behaviors with researched based practices students can learn to communicate, connect, and behave more appropriately in educational settings and in the rest of their lives. We are committed to providing the right challenges to help our students become confident about learning without feeling overwhelmed. Appalachian Banner Academy is equipped to approach and modify mal-adaptive behaviors. We utilize Registered Behavior Technician training , collaboration with local Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA’s), and educators in small group settings with individualized curriculum and continual growth monitoring . This approach encourages positive behavior and skill acquisition in the classroom.

Today we're celebrating our four-legged friends who bring so much joy, comfort, and companionship into our lives!

Dogs have an incredible way of making us smile, encouraging us to stay active, and reminding us to enjoy the little moments. Whether they're family pets, therapy dogs, or a best friend waiting at home after school, they make every day a little brighter.

A new school year is almost here, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome our students back to Appalachian Banner Academy!

We're looking forward to new friendships, new accomplishments, and another year of learning, growth, and unforgettable memories.
