🌿 THIS IS WHAT HOUSTON BLACK HIKERS IS ALL ABOUT! 🖤

Creating meaningful experiences together, stepping outside our comfort zones, and trying new things as a tribe! 💪🏾🔥

The truth is, we were ALL new to this. None of us knew exactly what to expect, but we showed up, embraced the experience, and made memories together! 😂💦 From the unexpected moments to the laughs and the falls, it’s all part of the journey!

That’s what it’s about showing up, trying something different, growing together, and creating memories that last beyond the experience. You don’t have to be an expert, and you don’t have to know what you’re doing. Sometimes, you just have to be willing to try!

At HBH, we believe there’s power in community, connection, and experiencing life together. Every experience gives us a chance to learn something new, meet new people, and create stories we’ll be talking about long after it’s over. 🌱

So, if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines, waiting for the right time to join us, THIS IS YOUR SIGN! 🥾

Come as you are. Try something new. Find your tribe. You belong outside! 🌳

📲 Join us on Heylo to stay connected, discover upcoming experiences, and be part of what we’re building!

🔥 SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO (B) BRANDON! 🔥

I gotta give my boy B, Brandon, his flowers. 💐💯

B was out there helping people, encouraging people, and making sure folks were good. 🤝🏾

And that’s just B’s personality, man. 😂

He got a great personality, good energy, and he’s just a genuinely dope dude. 🙌🏾

He definitely made the experience even better for us. 🏃🏾‍♂️💦🟤

And what I really appreciated was that he was willing to jump in and help people, even when it meant getting dirty himself. 😂💪🏾

That’s what it’s about.

You don’t just show up for yourself you show up for the people around you. 🤝🏾❤️‍🔥

So shoutout to B! 🫡🔥

Appreciate you, bro. You definitely helped make the Muddy Dash experience what it was.

That’s tribe mentality. 🌿💯

🔥 SHOUTOUT TO MY TEAM. SHOUTOUT TO THE TRIBE. 🔥

Houston Black Hikers… WE DID THAT! 🏃🏾‍♂️💦🟤

And the crazy part? This was ALL of our first time doing the Muddy Dash! 😂

We had about 29 people sign up, but when it was time to get out there, we ended up with about 9 of us actually doing it together. And you know what?

WE STILL SHOWED UP. 💯

We got to the park early, around 8:00–8:30 AM, even though our dash wasn’t until around 10. We connected, got ourselves together, and made sure our people were good. 🤝🏾

And honestly, this experience taught me something too:

COMMUNICATION MATTERS. 📲

A few people reached out because they were lost or needed help, but when I’m out there moving around, I’m not always checking my inbox.

Sometimes a CALL 📞 is what gets the job done.

That’s exactly why I’m pushing everybody in the community to get on Heylo.

The people who were on Heylo were able to communicate, coordinate, agree on a meetup time, and make sure everybody knew what was going on. 👊🏾

That’s what we need moving forward.

Because next year?

😤 WE’RE COMING BACK BETTER.

Now we know what to expect.

Now we know what to prepare for.

Now we know how to communicate.

And we’re going to do it EVEN BETTER. 🔥

So shoutout to everybody who showed up. ❤️‍🔥
Shoutout to the ones who got muddy with us. 🟤😂
Shoutout to the tribe. 🌿🤝🏾

WE DID THAT!

Next time, we’re going to be even more prepared.

Everybody in the Houston Black Hikers community, PLEASE GET ON HEYLO. 📲

Let’s communicate better.
Let’s stay connected.
Let’s keep showing up.

🌿 GO BE GREAT ON PURPOSE. 🔥

🎥🔥 MUDDY DASH REVIEW — REAL TALK

Alright y’all… I gotta give y’all the real review of yesterday’s Muddy Dash. 👀💦

Overall? 6.5/10. ⭐️

And let me explain why.

💰 First, the parking situation was $20 cash or $25 without cash, and the organization was ON POINT when it came time to collect that money. 😂

But once we got inside?

🤷🏾‍♂️ “Y’all figure it out.”

There wasn’t much direction, structure, or communication.

The host? 🎤 4/10. The energy just wasn’t there.

Then the dash started. 🏃🏾‍♂️💨

There needed to be arrows ➡️, staff at every obstacle, and better communication. 📻

We were waiting 20 minutes in the Houston heat 🥵☀️ at some obstacles.

And honestly…

WHERE WAS THE MUD?! 😂🟤

We did high knees, flipped tires 🛞🛞, walked through trails 🌳 which was cool, but this was the Muddy Dash!

I expected way more mud. 💦🟤

Then the exit was another issue. 🚨

Staff were sitting down while people were trying to figure out where to go. No real traffic direction. 🚗 No one guiding people out. ➡️

And that’s when I really felt like…

💰 “They got their money, and now we’re on our own.”

But here’s what changed everything…

🔥 MY PEOPLE!

10/10. 💯

We stayed together. 🤝🏾
We helped each other. 💪🏾
We laughed. 😂
We got muddy. 🟤💦
And we made the experience what it needed to be.

That’s why I always say…

🌿 GET OUTSIDE TOGETHER.

Because the experience might not always be perfect, but the right people can make the experience unforgettable. ❤️‍🔥

Muddy Dash: 6.5/10.
My people: 10/10. 🔥

And that’s it and that’s all.

🌿 GO BE GREAT ON PURPOSE. 🔥
