Houston Pride Band

Houston Pride Band A non-profit, non-audition, community concert and marching band based in Houston, TX that's comprised of LGBT and Ally musicians.

The Houston Pride Band is open to all brass, woodwind, and percussion players. We welcome musicians of all skill levels. Serving as a community band in Houston's gay, lesbian, and transgender community, the Houston Pride Band has several groups perform at community events throughout the year as well as concerts and parades. and has a proud 40 year history. Originally known as the Montrose Marching Band, the organization was formed by a small group of musicians in 1978 as a way to make new friends and to provide entertainment for Houston's gay and lesbian community. The Houston Pride Band is a member of the Lesbian and Gay Band Association (LGBA), a national musical organization made up of over twenty-five bands across the nation and around the world. With LGBA, members of the Houston Pride Band have been able to participate at every Gay Games, three Presidential Inaugurations, and conferences throughout the world.

🕯️ Pulse Night of Remembrance 2026
This is a moment for reflection, remembrance, and unity.

We honor the 49 lives taken in the 2016 Pulse nightclub tragedy, and we hold close the survivors, families, and first responders whose lives were forever impacted. We also recognize the enduring reminder this tragedy carries for our community: that LGBTQ+ visibility, safety, and belonging remain deeply connected and deeply important.

The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce stands with our community in remembrance and solidarity as we continue working toward a future where everyone can live, gather, and celebrate without fear.

We remember. We honor. We continue the work. 🕯️

• • • IMPORTANT PRIDE UPDATE • • •

With heavy hearts, and out of concern for the safety of our community, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2026 Pride Houston 365 Parade due to severe weather and flooding conditions.

The safety of our attendees, participants, volunteers, and staff must come first.

The Pride Houston 365 Festival will remain open until 7 PM at Houston City Hall, and we welcome everyone who can safely attend to join us in celebrating our community.

We have spoken with the Mayor’s Office and have strong support from the community and state representatives as we explore options to reschedule the parade. A roundtable discussion will be held with stakeholders to review potential dates between July 19 and October 31. We will keep our community updated as plans develop.

Thank you for your understanding, support, and continued Pride. Please stay safe and take care of one another.
