Happy Foster-Pup-Friday from Fiji! 🐾

Fiji is an adoptable 1-year-old female pittie/lab mix. Some of you might remember her from our Island litter!🏝️ Fiji has grown up in foster care and we can’t imagine why.

She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and currently weighs 53 pounds.

Fiji is friendly with dogs, cats, and children (recommended 8+ due to her playful nature). She is fully potty and crate trained and walks calmly on a harness. Her foster family describes her as silly, bouncy, and highly snack-motivated! 🍎🍓🫐🍉
Fiji can be a bit shy at first, but becomes a confident, playful companion once settled. She would LOVE another doggie playmate in her forever home, but would also be great as your one and only.

2nd time’s the charm? 😅🥲

At just 6 months old Bevo was adopted and then returned just 2 weeks later due to unknown allergies in the family. Today, Bevo left on transport to his new adoptive family and we are so excited for him!

A huge thank you to his incredible foster mom for opening her heart and fostering Bevo since he was just a tiny pup. 🥹 We are so, so grateful for you!

A day late, but happy October! 🎃

For the month of September we finalized 5 adoptions! 🥳 This is always our favorite time of the month as we get to touch base with adopters and make sure everything is still going well. We are so grateful for the pictures and stories they share with us about their new pups over the past month! 🥹

As always, we’re so grateful for all of our fosters, volunteers, transporters and supporters for making these happy tails possible! 🐾

Happy National Black Dog Day! 🐾🖤🐕‍🦺

Today we’re celebrating all of beautiful, loyal, goofy, and loving black dogs in our care.

Did you know October 1st is National Black Dog Day? It was created to shine a light on black dogs and encourage people to look beyond appearance when choosing a canine companion. 🐾

Black dogs tend to wait 3-4 times longer to be adopted than other dogs and this is something we always have to consider when intaking a black dog. While these pups are safe in our care, they’ve been waiting far too long for their forever homes.

Barney is a lover, not a fighter. (A chaser, though? Maybe.) 😅

Barney is a 75-lb lap dog who'd rather snooze on his back with all four paws up than cause any real trouble. The only issue? Cats who run. In his foster home, the cat was really dog savvy and wouldn’t run when Barney tried to play, so Barney moved on. Barney was adopted and is being returned because he likes to chase the resident cat.

The pros: He's a certified lap dog, a professional snuggler, and the kind of dog who'll sleep in as late as you want. 😴

He would LOVE a home where everyone's a dog person (no cats, please). Bonus: he does best with a canine sibling to help him feel brave. 🐶 He's sweet, snuggly, potty-trained, crate-trained, kid-friendly, and basically the whole package. 📦

If you want a gentle giant who'll drink his morning coffee with you, spoon you at night, and mirror your energy, Barney's your guy!

📍 Located in Tacoma, WA currently, but will be coming back to Houston mid October if a foster or adopter is not found.

Minnie & Howdy are loaded up and headed to meet their new families in New York! We are so excited for these two pups to finally have families to call their own. 🐾

Today some of our adoptable pups had the opportunity to hang out backstage with the crew for J.Cole before their concert tonight!🌟

We often get asked to do these events to help the crew unwind during their tour, but these events are SO great for our puppies as well! As a rescue, we’re always trying to make sure that our puppies are well socialized to prepare for adoption.

We can’t imagine how these pups haven’t been adopted because they stole everyone’s hearts today! Buccee, Dallas, Bevo & Cowboy are all 6 months old and Cheeto is estimated to be between 1-2 years.
