Less than 1 week to go until Global Running Day! Here’s what’s going down on Wednesday, June 3:

✨General registration reopens for the 2027 Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Houston Half Marathon and We Are Houston 5K at 9 a.m. CST!

✨The Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason Charity Challenge kicks off with a single-day Global Running Day giving challenge. Use the donation link in our bio on June 3 to help your favorite RFAR charity win $25,000 from Chevron! The eligible RFAR charity partner who raises the most in donations will win the prize.

✨We’re celebrating with HOU at at HARRA's Houston Global Running Day event at Axelrad Beer Garden at 6:30 p.m. (learn more and register HARRA - Houston Area Road Runners Association ) AND at Fleet Feet Greenbriar at 6 p.m.! If you can’t make it, check out Fleet Feet’s week-long schedule of Global Running Day celebrations at locations all across Houston (learn more at Fleet Feet Houston).

🚨REMINDER! Applications for elementary, middle, and high schools in Greater Houston interested in joining the We Run Houston After-School Youth Running Program next school year close on May 31!

Selected schools will host a 2-6 month training program 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ to get students ready and excited to take on the We Are Houston 5K or Aramco Houston Half Marathon in January. Participating schools receive complimentary race entries, race day transportation, a coaching stipend, shirts and shoes for students, and more!

We Run Houston brings kids together in a supportive environment for healthy movement, positive goal setting, and the special experience of crossing a finish line! ✨️ Help us spread the word to educators and school leaders in your network.

This year's Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon Ambassadors are gearing up for an EPIC race weekend and will be bringing you along for the ride to race day! 🏃‍♀️💨

From Legacy Runners to newbies, our Ambassadors each bring unique stories, perspectives, and goals to the course 💪, and they're all ready to make their mark with HOU in 2027!

👀 Keep an eye out for them at run clubs and events across H-Town ready to answer your questions about race weekend, and follow our Takeover Tuesday 🎤 content launching this summer to hear more inspiration from each of them!

👋Hey educators and parents! Applications for the 2026-2027 school year We Run Houston After-School Youth Running Program are now open!

🏫 Selected schools host a 2-6 month after-school training program to get kids ready and excited to experience the 2027 Houston Marathon Weekend of Events in January, participating in either the We Are Houston 5K presented by Aramco and Chevron or the Aramco Houston Half Marathon.

🏃Participating schools are provided with training program guidance, coaching stipends, race weekend transportation, race entries, running shoes, shirts and more.

🏃Become an official pacer for the 2027 Chevron Houston Marathon or Aramco Houston Half Marathon! Experienced, consistent, and encouraging runners wanted to help runners hit their pace goals and make race day unforgettable! 🙌Pacers take on a variety of paces ranging from 5:44 to 18:01 mile pace for the half marathon and 6:44 to 13:35 for the marathon. 📣 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY! There's still a few more days for high school seniors 🎓 to apply for the Houston Marathon Foundation Scholarship. The $10,000 HMF Scholarship will be awarded to 3 recipients from the Greater Houston area who:

✨ Participated in high school cross country
✨Are passionate about running and community involvement
✨ Show strong academic achievement
✨Will be attending a U.S. College or University

🌠It's been another amazing year of impact for the Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason Charity Program, thanks to the generosity of all who have fundraised or donated. With $2.2 million and counting raised this past year, RFAR has now contributed over $42 million to local nonprofits since 1995. 📣 Did you know that 900 students from schools across the Houston region participated in the 2026 Houston Marathon Weekend of Events through the We Run Houston After-School Youth Running Program? ✨👟This season, WRH supported 25 elementary and middle schools and 6 high schools in hosting a 4-month training program leading up to race weekend. WRH students received complimentary race entries, race day transportation, and running gear; and even got to meet some special elite athlete guests post-race with Brooks Running.🎉

💚Thank you to Aramco's Committed to the Community Program for their continued support of the We Run Houston After-School Youth Running Program! This marked the fourth year Aramco presented financial support to make this special program possible for local schools. 👉 Here are some inspiring race day smiles from this year's youth participants!
