Across our city and around the world, children and families are carrying stories of vulnerability, transition, hope, and resilience. As the Church, we have the opportunity to show up with compassion, consistency, and prayer.

As we read and reflect on this recently publish article on Houston’s First commitment to foster families through and The Oaks, we’re also re-releasing several prayer resources to help you engage intentionally:

🤍 Intercessor Prayer Guide
🤍 Family Prayer Guide (English + Español)
🤍 Waiting Family Prayer Guide

Whether you’re fostering, adopting, supporting, advocating, or simply learning, prayer is a powerful way to stand in the gap for vulnerable children and families.
We’d also love for you to join us for a special outdoor viewing of .riverside.project documentary As One on The Lawn at The Loop on May 29. Gather with us to hear stories that remind us what it means for the Church and our local community to care for children and families together.

Our New Ground Team is back from their time in Southeast Asia, this is the third time a team from our church was able to serve alongside global worker families that are partnered with Houstons First. They were able to connect with people in their homes and experienced their daily lives; from their traditions and school routines to sharing meals and understanding their way of life. They embraced every moment and were able to share the love of Jesus through the art of storytelling. 🫶🫂

At the end of April, our 5th Harvest Team traveled to Maine, and the impact was incredible. From renovation projects in existing and new ministry spaces, to visiting college campuses, to equipping local churches with insight from Houston’s First ministry leaders, this team poured out their hearts in every way.

We’re grateful for the partnerships being built and strengthened, and for the opportunity to support what God is doing across Maine! 🌎💙

Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating World Mission Offering Sunday, a special time set apart to give, send, and support the work God is doing across the globe.

This year was especially meaningful as we commissioned one of our own to step into the calling God has placed on her life. It is a powerful reminder that the mission begins right here within our own church family. Let’s continue to lift her up in prayer as she boldly walks into this new season of ministry. 🌎🙏

We look forward to sharing the results of this year’s World Mission Offering on Sunday, May 31st. Come celebrate with us and hear how the Lord is moving in Texas, across our nation, and around the world.

You can still be a part of what God is doing. Give today by visiting:

Last week, our missions staff members Kelsey and Evelyn stepped into the everyday life of our global workers in Moldova, sharing meals around tables filled with pickled cabbage, walking through a local school to meet the teachers shaping young minds, and joining their team for a day of prayer that grounded everything in God’s presence. They went with one purpose in their hearts: to care for and encourage the global workers who faithfully serve where God has placed them.

And now, the story continues. We’re already excited for the team of teachers from our church who will travel in July to serve alongside these workers, support their ministry, and pour into local educators during a special retreat. What God is building across these relationships is beautiful, and we’re grateful to be part of it.

On Sunday, May 17, during each worship service at every campus, the Houston’s First family will come together to give toward our World Mission Offering, supporting those called to GO. Our goal is to raise $2,000,000 for the International Mission Board, North American Mission Board, and Southern Baptists of Texas Convention; sharing the hope of Jesus both locally and globally.

If you can’t attend in person, you can give online starting today. Let’s continue the legacy of faith and generosity that has defined our church for over 180 years.

Join us in prayer, as we seek a deeper desire for the Gospel to advance through generous giving!
