Our chapter has had the pleasure of delivering some beds! To date, we have delivered 11 beds and we have 5 more deliveries scheduled! It is impossible to describe in words the joy that we see in the children when they get their bed! Some families allow us to take pictures so we can post them here.

If you would like to help us keep making children in our community thrilled to get their beds - right now we need bedding. You can use the link on this page labeled "mindfulgiving.org" to shop at Amazon for bedding (a complete set of sheets, pillow cases, comforter or blanket) and when you purchase those, they will ship directly to us. The Lowe's sponsored 24 hour bed build at the Charlotte Convention Center was spectacular! 2 people from our Hickory chapter worked the event. It was exciting and exhausting. Can't wait until next year! Over 6500 volunteers filled the convention center with 16 trains (production lines) working around the clock to meet our goal of 10,000 beds. Congratulations to all.

On April 25th we are going to have another bed build! This one is sponsored by Hickory Sunrise Rotary Club. The location is in NE Hickory, the same location where the Rotary club is having a yard sale. If you are interested in participating, you can click on the QR code below or you can follow the link to sign up and help. This build is open to the public, limited to 20 volunteers. If you are not a skilled wood worker, come to the build and we will teach you how we build beds - all skill levels are welcome!

Our chapter is getting ready for a huge bed build in Charlotte April 15-16. Thousands of Lowe's employees are volunteering along with hundreds of Sleep in Heavenly Peace volunteers to build 10,000 beds in 24 hours! Our chapter will get 100 beds and mattresses for us to deliver in our area.

After getting the lumber all organized, we got busy to get those 4 beds built!

We built 4 more beds in our driveway with our team! First thing to do was to organize our lumber and label it

We completed our first Team Build! We built 3 beds, learning as we went along.

We got our first tools! These are jigs that are used for marking the holes in the wood for drilling and the branding iron that we use to mark the headboard of each bed.
