Today, we join so many around the world in remembering Dolly Parton and celebrating the legacy she leaves behind.

Dolly believed deeply in children, in possibility, and in giving people opportunities to live a life filled with hope and dreams for the future. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she turned that belief into action, putting books into the hands and homes of millions of young children around the world.

Sometimes, it’s the simplest moments that build lifelong well-being and help children feel loved, connected, and like they belong: bedtime stories that become family traditions, laughing together, having a caring adult who listens, or being encouraged to dream big. Through the Imagination Library, Dolly helped make more of those moments possible for children and families everywhere.

Today, we celebrate her life, her generosity, and a legacy that will continue helping children live a purposeful life filled with hope for the future.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Dolly Parton’s passing.

Dolly was a true champion for children and early literacy, and her generosity has touched the lives of millions of children around the world, including right here in Catawba County through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

We are grateful to be part of her incredible vision and to see the joy that books bring to children and families in our community. While we are sad to say goodbye, we know Dolly’s legacy will live on.

“You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children.” 💛

In North Carolina, you are required by law to be licensed through NC DCDEE when caring for more than two unrelated children for more than four hours a day.
If you’re currently providing care in your home and aren’t sure whether you need a license, or you’re thinking about opening a Family Child Care Home, please reach out to us!
There’s a process, resources, and support available to help you become a licensed FCCH provider. 💚💙💛

Every baby deserves a safe place to sleep. Join the Children's Resource Center for our Virtual ITS-SIDS Class and learn current safe sleep recommendations, ways to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and best practices for creating safe sleep environments.
