Students are preparing for jobs that are already in demand across Southwest Florida. Industries like construction, healthcare, and skilled trades continue to lead the region, with over 69,000 jobs in construction and nearly 69,000 in healthcare alone. As our region grows, the need for a skilled workforce continues to increase.

JA programs help students step into those opportunities early. From hands-on experiences like forklift training to career exploration and workforce readiness programs, students build real skills, earn credentials, and connect with local employers before graduation. This is how we close the gap between education and employment.

Help prepare students for the careers our region needs most: https://bit.ly/4vfwI3j. For program information, contact Brian Willard: [email protected].

On National Higher Education Day, we are celebrating the many pathways students can take to build their future, whether that is college, certifications, or careers in the skilled trades. Every student deserves the chance to explore what fits their goals and strengths.

JA programs help students experience these pathways early so they can move forward with confidence and direction. Explore programs that open doors: https://bit.ly/4mfaavn. For program details, contact Ashley Gutierrez: [email protected].

Last week, we welcomed leaders from the School District of Lee County, Charlotte County Public Schools, Collier County Public School District, FutureMakers Coalition, and 5th Avenue Family Office to JA BizTown in Broward County for a firsthand look at what is possible when education and workforce development connect.

Joined by our CEO, Cheryl Kunkle, and Board Chair, Jason Brewer, this group explored innovative approaches to preparing young people for the future and left with renewed energy and vision for what comes next in Southwest Florida.
