From Eagles to Engaged 💍

Lauren and Joe were both Eagles in 2022, but their paths didn’t cross until after graduation! They connected over their shared love of bagels at Empire Bagel Factory on Alico Road, and their fourth date took them back to FGCU for a basketball game with the Alumni Association.

In October 2026, Joe proposed at their favorite sunset spot in Downtown Fort Myers. Now, they’re counting down to their wedding in December 2027!

Bring the family and join FGCU’s Bower School of Music & the Arts for a FREE afternoon of Halloween fun! Enjoy trunk-or-treat, tie-dyeing, art activities, improv shows, dance parties and a costume contest.

Live jazz, local brews and a night with our Eagles! 🎷💚

Last Saturday, we brought our alumni together for our first-ever Jazz on Tap at Palm City Brewing! From live music by the Gulf Coast Symphony to BBQ from alumni-owned Beau’s BBQ, it was a great evening of music, food and connecting with fellow Eagles.

From Eagles to Everlasting Love 💚🦅

Nicholas White ’13 and Cristi White ’14 met in 2011 while working at P.F. Chang’s at Gulf Coast Town Center, and their love story has been going strong ever since!

From fishing dates and beach days at Fort Myers Beach to cheering on the Eagles at FGCU basketball games, they made plenty of memories together. Nicholas proposed in Hawaii in 2014, and they married in 2016 at the Burroughs Home in downtown Fort Myers.

Today, they’re raising three boys together and building careers related to their FGCU degrees! 💚

Building a Blueprint for Success! 🦅

Today’s features Ian Schmoyer ’04, president and CEO of Christopher Alan Homes and FGCU’s 2026 Alumni Business of the Year.

Ian’s journey to success didn’t always follow a straight path. After struggling early in college, he found his footing at FGCU, where professors believed in his potential and helped him get on the right track. He went on to found Christopher Alan Homes in 2017 and grow the company into one of the region’s leading homebuilders.

Now, Ian gives back by returning to FGCU classrooms, sharing his story with current students and showing them what’s possible when you find the right path forward.

We’re proud to see this Eagle making an impact in Southwest Florida and inspiring the next generation along the way! 💙💚
