And of course, thank you to all the participants who spent the day with us learning. We don’t know about you, but we feel inspired to spend the rest of our Saturday in the plants!

We had a great ArtWalk FLG First Friday in June participating in Momentum Aerial's Pollinator Parade with our pollinator rod puppets.

The puppets were designed and fabricated by Lisa Aimee Sturz of Red Herring Puppets in Tucson, then brought to Flagstaff where community members helped add paper mâché, fabric, and other details. This project became a true community collaboration and a celebration of the pollinators that play such an important role in our environment.

We are proud of this project and grateful to Momentum Aerial for organizing the parade. Ballet Folklórico de Colores gave a wonderful performance and we loved the aerial show!

The Pollinator Puppets and Parade project was funded through Creative Flagstaff´s ARTx Ideas Festival Flagstaff, and we thank them for their support. We also thank everyone who helped create the puppets and joined us in the celebration.

As we approach the end of our fiscal year, we are proud of everything we accomplished together at Willow Bend Environmental Education Center.

This year, we provided environmental education programs to schools across Northern Arizona, offered free community workshops, hosted Science Saturdays and family programs, improved our center, and connected thousands of people to the natural world.

These programs are made possible through the generosity of our community. As we prepare for another year of inspiring environmental stewardship and lifelong learning, we are working to close the gap between this year's expenses and revenue.

If Willow Bend's work has touched your family, classroom, or community, we invite you to make a year-end gift before June 30. Donations of $35+ include an Individual Membership, and donations of $50+ include a Family Membership (new or renewed).

Together, we can ensure that environmental education continues to thrive in Northern Arizona.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on a busy summer Saturday for Science Saturday: Junior Naturalists! We had a blast using our senses, making observations, and learning about the world around us with you all.
We'd like to extend an extra special thank you to the community partners who joined us on Saturday: Northern Arizona Audubon Society, Flagstaff Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Events, , Willow Bend Board Member and wildlife educator extraordinaire Jillian, and our incredible volunteer Ashley.

Science Saturday will be taking a quick break next month (the first Saturday is July 4th!), but we will be back in August to explore the wide world of geology during Science Saturday: Rocks Rock!
