Sunshine Rescue Mission and Hope Cottage Flagstaff

What a beautiful Sunday morning at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church! Our wonderful CEO, Kathie, had the opportunity to share about Sunshine Rescue Mission and the work God is doing through our ministry. We’re so thankful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to spend time with your congregation!

One of the sweetest moments was watching Pastor Scott invite the children to the altar for a special message. What a precious reminder of the importance of nurturing little hearts in the Lord. ❤️

We’re also so grateful that your congregation is putting together a product drive for our residents and hosting a Harvest Festival and Chili Cook-Off benefiting Sunshine Rescue Mission! These everyday necessities are things we often take for granted, but they mean so much to the people we serve. Thank you for thinking of our residents and for finding ways to come alongside our ministry. We truly appreciate your kindness and support!

Our social enterprise, Sunshine Catering Cares, has been nominated for Best of Flagstaff!

This is so inspiring to us, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity and for this nomination. Sunshine Catering Cares hasn’t even been around for a year, so to see our program recognized like this is such an encouragement.

When we shared the news with our catering team, they were so proud of themselves. Seeing their excitement and knowing how much this moment meant to them was incredibly special. This nomination is about so much more than catering—it’s about people growing, learning, gaining confidence, and working toward a better life.

We know that each person on our team will eventually move on to God’s best next thing for them. Maybe even opening and running their own catering business someday—who knows? We just feel incredibly blessed to be a small part of their journey.

If you have a moment, we would be so grateful if you would vote for Sunshine Catering Cares for Best of Flagstaff! Your vote is a simple way to encourage our team and support the work we’re doing in our community.

Thank you for all of your prayers, support, encouragement, and care. Thank you for believing in Sunshine Catering Cares and for helping make this program possible. Every opportunity, every event, and every person who supports us helps create more opportunities for people who are working toward a better life.

Please vote for Sunshine Catering Cares and share this post with a friend!

We are so grateful to be part of this community. Thank you for cheering us on!

We are so grateful for the work of Reset Ministries. We are currently teaching the prep course in two of our homeless/restoration shelters to amazing individuals whose lives have seen a lot of devastation and trauma. Our partnership with Reset Ministries over the last five years has changed so many lives, healed hearts, revealed purpose, overcome fears, led people to forgive and let go of things they were never meant to carry and so much more!

Yes, we are in Homeless Ministry, but everyone needs this! Anyone struggling with things they have not been able to overcome. Anyone hurting. Anyone seeking God’s promise of abundant life, growth and transformation.

If you’re seeing this post, please pray about whether or not you should consider coming to the Reset Ministries Retreat. Hop on the prep class videos. Register to come. We will see you there. ☺️

It’s hard to describe this kind of spiritual/emotional freedom. God still heals the brokenhearted all the time. One of the ways He does that is through Reset Ministries.

We are thankful to Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation () for their generous grant of $5,000 which will go toward supporting nutrition and cooking classes at Hope Cottage and The Mission. With this grant, we’re able to provide single ladies and moms at Hope Cottage and men working towards a better life at The Mission. THESE CLASSES ARE CHANGING LIVES AND ENDING HOMELESSNESS!

Thank you, Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation, for helping make a way for people to find hope, healing, and a path forward. We are so grateful for your investment in our community and the lives being changed through it.🌱

Sunshine Catering Cares has hit the ground running! With another successful event catered, we’re excited to announce that we now have capacity to cater more events.

Sunshine Catering Cares is about so much more than food and service. It’s an opportunity to help people build job skills, grow in confidence, and experience the dignity that comes from meaningful work.

Through catering, participants have a safe place to learn, practice new skills, work as a team, and gain hands-on experience they can add to their resumes. Every event gives someone an opportunity to learn something new, grow in their abilities, and take another step forward.

So, if you have an upcoming event, meeting, celebration, or gathering that needs catering, we would love the opportunity to serve you!

When you choose Sunshine Catering Cares, you’re not just ordering a meal—you’re helping create opportunities, build dignity, and invest in someone’s future.
